According to one Australian ‘dhimmi’ (one who is subservient to Islam), the sitcom “Salam Cafe’ is trying to combat Islamophobia by giving the Muslim community a voice to change their misrepresentation in the media after several terrorist attacks.
It’s a nice idea but I think they’d get a lot of farther with anti-Muslim attitudes in Australia if they did something that condemned terrorism and and denounced Shari’a Law. They seem to think it’s funny to call the character Uncle Sam, a “harmless fundamentalist.” They are not eliminating stereotypes as they say, they are simply reinforcing them.
