TEACHING THE MEDIA A LESSON – Kenya's version of the 'Fairness Doctrine'

KENYA’S MEDIA CRACKDOWN: Looks like Obama’s Kenyan cousins are beating him to the punch in trying to control the media.

Kenyan legislators are attempting to push a controversial new law through parliament, which would allow Kenya’s information minister to raid and close broadcasters. Dozens of journalists have already been detained by the police for protesting against the proposed law.

The new law would give government the right to control standards for the manner, type, and time of broadcasting available to Kenyans. Licenses will be rejected if certain standards aren’t met.

Gee, this sounds exactly like Obama’s and the Democrat’s plan to control talk radio.
