We knew he was going to try, but now he has the unmitigated gaul to ask Congress to change US law to enable allocation of funds to Palestinian terror organization, HAMAS.
Move sparks outrage among Israel supporters. (As it should for every American)
The Obama administration is laying the groundwork for dialogue with a Palestinian unity government that includes Hamas, the Los Angeles Times reported on Monday. According to the LA Times, the administration has asked Congress to amend US law so as to enable continued financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority even if Hamas becomes part of a future unity government.
US law requires the PA to adhere to three conditions in order to be eligible for aid: Recognizing Israel, renouncing violence and accepting past agreements. Hamas, as an organization, does not meet these conditions. (How many times do they have to tell us they will NOT recognize Israel before this Muslim thug believes them? )
According to the proposed change, if the rival Palestinian factions reach a power-sharing agreement, the US would like to provide aid as long as the government members backed by Hamas meet the administration’s criteria. This new initiative, reported the LA Times, signals a break from the policy of the Bush administration, which opposed a unity government.
The move has already sparked anger among Israel supporters in Congress. Rep. Mark Steven Kirk told Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at a House hearing last week that the administration’s proposal is akin to agreeing to support a government that “only has a few Nazis in it.”
Clinton, who is seeking support for the move that would enable the transfer of $840 million in aid funds to the Palestinians, assured Congress that no assistance would be given to Hamas or an entity controlled by Hamas. She added that the US will not recognize a Palestinian unity government that does not meet the Quartet’s criteria. (Crap!)

So does this mean ISLAMObama will withdraw his request to Congress? Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
(IsraelNN.com) Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas openly refused Monday to recognize Israel as a Jewish State. The statement came as a direct slap against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s insistence that such an acknowledgement is a necessary condition for “progress” in final-status talks.
An uproar ensued in the PA two weeks ago following an initial statement by Netanyahu aides in which it appeared the prime minister had issued an ultimatum, with PA officials calling Netanyahu’s insistence on this basic understanding a “provocation” and promising a “poisonous effect” on the Israel-PA relationship. Netanyahu later clarified that recognition of Israel as the state of the Jewish people was a necessary component for progress in negotiations with the PA, although it would not prevent the initiation of the talks.
This is the first time since Netanyahu’s statement on the matter that Abbas has publicly rejected the notion of Israel as a Jewish State. ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS
Israel was attacked by several Arab nations in 1967. Israel won that war and all the land that came with it. No way should they have to give any of it back. It’s called the spoils of war that your enemy initiated.
