MUSLIM DAY at the U.S. Capitol – turning Washington DC into an open air mosque

MASS OUTDOOR ISLAMIC PRAYER EVENT will turn Capitol Hill into a giant outdoor mosque.

UPDATE: Obviously, this event bombed, though, happily,  not literally. There were about 5,000 Muslims on the Mall, not 50,000 as promised, praying at the Capitol building, so the organizers only missed by 90% or so. The event was so underwhelming, that the news barely covered it. Compared to the grand displays Muslims overseas held in front of Christian Holy sites all over Europe last year, this was like Harold & Kumar’s birthday party.

Perhaps the next time the activist elements won’t be so bold as to declare “OUR TIME HAS COME.” Perhaps next time the slogan will be, “We denounce Islamic terrorists as much as you do.”

Perhaps next time, they might want to choose some spokesmen who are a little less antagonistic. Hearing Dr. Ahmad Dwidar, Imam of the Islamic Center in New York, say We are going to the White House, so that Islam will be victorious, Allah willing, and the White House will turn into the Muslim house” is not very all-American, unifying or comforting. It’s a good thing for him the news was not interested, or this event could have become a circus for Islam on Capitol Hill. Lucky for them our journalists, who should be asking questions, stayed home as well.

(Apparently CAIR picked up a link to my story and commented in their newsletter as follows:)

Ibrahim Hooper, chief spokesman for the Council on Islamic-American Relations, or CAIR, a leading Muslim advocacy group, said he sees the Friday event as an extension of other Islamic celebrations that have been going on in Washington and elsewhere for years.

“What is significant about this event is that it is being seized upon by a cottage industry of Internet hatemongers who want to disenfranchise the American Muslim community,” said Hooper, who cannot attend the event because he will be traveling. “People shouldn’t stop doing things based on the hatred and bigotry of others. The civil rights movement did not stop moving forward just because racists didn’t like it.” (More)

OUTRAGEOUS! THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. 50,000 Muslims, terrorists, and terrorist sympathizers will gather at the Capital for Islamic Sharia prayer day. What happened to separation of mosque and state? These IslamoFascists are spitting in our face.

September 25 ,2009 Jummah Prayer

On Capitol Hill

50,000 believers in the Greatness of Allah praying for the greater good of all people.

OUR TIME HAS COME (to be deported)

The Athan will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill

DISGUSTING. TREASONOUS. This ominous image above is also on the website and depicts two hands shaking in front of the Preamble to the United States Constitution on one page and what appears to be a page from the Qur’an on the opposite page (verses/subject are about how “allah” created the human race). One of the hands is colored red, white, and blue while the other hand is covered in what appears to be Arabic writing (same topic). Below the image it reads ISLAM & on what red block and AMERICA on a separate block. Coupled with the ‘OUR TIME HAS COME’ imagery throughout the website, one has to wonder what all this actually intends to portray.

“The Muslim call to prayer is the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard.”— Barack Hussein Obama

*Dar al Islam – house/home of Islam/submission or the areas of the world ruled by Islamic sharia law as opposed to dar al Harb – house/home of war or the areas of the world not ruled by Islamic sharia law or not submitting to Islam. According to the website, there will also be an “official event banquet”, “private events”, and there are already 500 buses reserved.

Dar ul-Islam is soliciting sponsorship packages which suggests this may be a live, televised event.  One of the events sponsors is an unindicted co-conspirator to the 1993 World Trade Center bombings and pro-jihad speaker Siraj Wahhaj. Wahhaj whom we’ve reported on previously including links to his audio tapes on jihad – has already sponsored 50 buses.

And checking Dar ul-Islam’s website, there last guest speaker was none other than Muhammad Al-Qatanani who we’ve also reported on previously. The DHS-friendly imam who lied on his immigration papers about being in an Israeli jail for being part of the terrorist group Hamas. Like, Wahhaj, he too has made inflammatory remarks on audio, including calling followers of Jesus hypocrites condemned to hellfire. Yet we are too believe that Dar ul-Islam’s “Our time has come” Islamic prayers and dawah on Capitol Hill is an inter-faith affair?

A mosque in Elizabeth, Dar-ul-Islam, is spearheading a national prayer gathering next month in Washington, D.C., that organizers are billing as the first event of its kind — organized prayer for tens of thousands of Muslims outside the U.S. Capitol building.

It was MUSLIM President Obama’s words at his inauguration in January, and then his speech in Egypt in June, that led Abdellah and an area imam, Abdul Malik, to begin discussing the idea, Abdellah said.

“For the first time in my lifetime,” Abdellah said, “I heard someone of his stature speaking about Islam and Muslims not in an adversarial sense, but in the sense of being welcome and acknowledging we are integral citizens in the society — that we’re gainfully employed, we’re educated.”

“He said he had his hand open to the Islamic world,” he said. “The Islamic world wants to open their hand and shake it.” (Well we don’t want to shake yours, you Muslim slime)

The website set up for the event, islamoncapitolhill.com, features a logo with a red, white and blue hand shaking a light brown hand, with the words to the preamble of the Constitution and a page of Arabic text in the background. (DISGUSTING! This should be grounds for treason. Where the hell is the left and their anti-religion outcries?)

“This is not about personalities,” Abdellah said. “We don’t want personalities involved. The personality for this event is the PAEDOPHILE Prophet Muhammad.

Its president, Aly A. Aziz, said too many Americans automatically associate Islam with terrorism, and that the event is a way to “expose Americans to how the Muslims pray.” (We’ve heard you guys pray to Allah, right before you crash planes into buildings)

“Yesterday I was viewed as a terrorist,” he said, “and today I’ve been given a permit on Capitol Hill to come and pray in a spirit of unity.” (You are still a terrorist, buddy. You only got a permit because there is a MUSLIM IN THE WHITE HOUSE) H/T CREEPING SHARIA

And now thuggish Hamas-linked CAIR tries to use Muslim victimhood incidents to shut down Internet and talk radio resistance to jihad.Read all about it at: JIHAD WATCH

A lawyer with a history of representing Islamic terrorists, including men connected to the 1993 and 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, is one of the chief organizers of a large Muslim prayer service for 50,000 at the Capitol in Washington D.C. on Sept. 25th.

Hassen Abdellah is president of Dar-ul-Islam, the mosque in Elizabeth, N.J., that is organizing the event. He said the mosque began organizing the gathering, called “Jummah Prayer on Capitol Hill: A Day of Islamic Unity,” several months ago to convey to Muslims around the world the freedoms enjoyed by their American confreres.

Mr. Abdellah, as a lawyer, represented several terrorists. He was part of a legal team that represented Mahmoud Abouhalima, who was charged in the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, and also represented Faruq Brent, a Baltimore cabdriver who pleaded guilty in April 2007 to providing material support for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist group.

He was briefly the attorney for Mohamed el-Atriss, who was convicted of selling fake IDs to two Sept. 11 hijackers, and represented Numan Maflahi, a New Jersey gas station owner who was convicted in 2004 of making false statements to federal agents.

Mr. Abdellah defended his record, saying, “We want to show the rest of the world that as Muslims, we don’t have restrictions in terms of our religious practice,” Mr. Abdellah said. The stated goal on the event’s Web site is to “manifest Islam’s majestic spiritual principles” in chants that will “echo off the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill.”

“Our Time Has Come,” it says on islamoncapitolhill.com. The event has inspired enough rumors to warrant an entry on factcheck.org and a competing event on Friday at the Rayburn House Office Building sponsored by a group called Stop Islamization of America.

Mr. Mahoney, the Rev. Rob Schenck of the National Clergy Council and Kristopher Keating of the Richmond-based Hillside Missions, joined the organizers of the Muslim prayer event as a way to counteract Christian opposition on the Internet. “While we do not question the constitutional right of these Muslim Americans to rally together at the Capitol, we do have concerns regarding the spiritual nature of this event,” said a statement on the group’s Web site, www.adnamis.org.

Mr. Mahoney said he has received far more vociferous reactions. “I was embarrassed by all the hate calls they say they’ve gotten from people who profess to be Christians,” he said of the organizers.

“It says, ‘Please in the name of Jesus do not make any covenant with the Muslim world’ with 14 exclamation points,” he repeated.”The American public and the church has lumped regular American Muslims and jihadists together, and that is a mistake,” he said. (No, it isn’t)

Friday’s event will draw Muslims who want to show America and the world a different facet of their religion, Mr. Abdellah said.(There is no different facet, Islam is Islam, ask any Muslim) WASHINGTON TIMES

Will Obama support the anti-semitic, anti-American Islamic day of prayer?

The Islamic community hopes to have 50,000 Muslims surrounding the U.S. Capitol for Jummah prayer this Friday, September 25.  While all people are of course free in America to pray according to the dictates of their own conscience, a look at the leaders of this prayer event raises serious questions about whether this event is good for America.

The imam who will lead the recitation of the Koran, Sheikh Ahmed Dewidar, is a Manhattan cleric who once said that “through the domination of Islam and its ideas, the White House will change,” and spoke approvingly of another cleric who said that one day “the White House will become…the Muslim House.”

The main organizer of the event, Hassen Ibn Abdellah, was, according to the New York Times, the “most aggressively combative of the lawyers” representing the terrorists who staged the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

In 2004, he tried to get Numan Maflahi off the hook. Maflahi is a New Jersey Muslim who was sentenced to five years in prison for his part in terrorism financing schemes. In 2007, Abdellah came to the defense of Mahmud Faruq Brent, a Baltimore cabdriver who pled guilty to attending a jihad terrorist training camp in Pakistan, and who, under Abdellah’s instructions, refused to cooperate with authorities or testify against other defendants.

He has also claimed that Zionists “control the government, the politics, the economy, and the media in the U.S.”

AFA president Tim Wildmon said, “It seems clear that this Islamic prayer event is being led by men who hold both anti-Semitic and anti-American views. Given the radical views of the organizers, we don’t think the president – or his spokesman – should issue any statements in support of this event at all, and we hope he won’t.”

AFA’s Director of Issues Analysis, Bryan Fischer, noted that President Obama has barely acknowledged the Christian heritage of the United States, refusing to participate in the National Day of Prayer and issuing only a perfunctory proclamation which he was required to do by law. Yet he has hosted a dinner celebrating what he called “the Holy Month of Ramadan” in the White House, and recently issued a proclamation at the end of Ramadan which concluded with an Arabic blessing.
