Israel rebuffs Obama’s pro-Arab-inspired demand to surrender before negotiations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a demand by US President Barack Obama that he commit to a major expulsion of Jews from their homes in Judea and Samaria prior to a renewal of peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.
According to Israeli media reports on Wednesday, Obama wanted to organize a major peace summit one month from now based on such an Israeli commitment. Even before the sides had a chance to sit down at the negotiating table, Israel was to surrender to all Arab demands to allow the creation of a Palestinian Arab state on every inch of land they claim.
A report in an Arabic-language newspaper indicated that the Palestinian Authority had informed Obama the peace process would not move forward until Israel was strong-armed into accepting those conditions.
At the same time, visiting US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice told Netanyahu that the White House expects more than just “lip service” from Israel regarding restarting the peace process.
Netanyahu has repeatedly stated his willingness to immediately restart talks with the Palestinians. He has issued only one precondition of his own, that the Palestinians finally honor their previous peace commitment to recognize Israel as the national home of the Jews. ISRAEL TODAY
Obama can thank himself for the stalled peace process.
Far from promoting peace, as the Nobel Committee would like us all to believe, US President Barack Obama has actually made it increasingly more difficult to achieve a compromise peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.
Obama’s overriding focus on stopping Jewish construction in Judea, Samaria and easternJerusalem, and even declaring the Jewish presence there illegitimate, has encouraged more hardline demands and positions from the Palestinian Arabs.
No Israeli leader can ever meet those demands, at least not if he or she wants to remain in office long enough to actually sign a peace deal.
For example, “moderate” Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas is more intractable than ever in his demand that Israel surrender every inch of the areas claimed by the Palestinians, including the entire eastern half of Jerusalem. Abbas has also been emboldened to reject Israel’s simple demand that it be recognized as the national home of the Jews, a demand that even Obama has backed. With Abbas unwilling to budge, and even the most liberal of possible Israeli leaders unable to meet 100 percent of his demands, peace is today more unachievable than ever, despite the picture the White House is trying to paint. Israel’s KAMIKAZE Drone
A new kamikaze drone out of Israel is designed to hang about overhead until it spots a target, then crash into it with “pinpoint accuracy” destroying the target, and itself, with 50 pounds of on-board explosives.
While classified as a Loitering Munition, the HAROP comes equipped with many of the usual UAV capabilities: high-performance FLIR and color CCD camera with 360-degree hemispherical coverage, allowing it to transmit video back to its operators just like a surveillance drone.
Like its predecessor the Harpy, the HAROP will be used to take out high-value targets such as air defense radars that transmit a strong pulse. But there’s nothing to indicate it can’t home-in on a cell phone call from a moving car. The HAROP can be launched from a variety of platforms, including a ground vehicle. Launched out the box on a booster rocket, it unfold its wings, starts up an internal-combustion driven pusher propeller, and begins the hunt. Once a target is identified, it can crash “from any direction and at any attack angle, from flat to vertical which is highly essential in urban areas.”
