Yes, the problem IS Islam. And there IS a backlash against Muslims because of the Fort Hood Massacre
Just ask the commie liberal media, such as Media Matters, and Terrorist Front Group CAIR who demonize the critics of Islam while defending/supporting the terrorists of Islam.
Pat Robertson told his “700 Club” audience: “Islam is a violent — I was going to say religion — but it’s not a religion. It’s a political system. It’s a violent political system bent on the overthrow of governments of the world and world domination…I think you should treat it as such and treat its adherents as such. As we would members of the Communist party and members of some Fascist group.” WASHINGTON POST
TERRORIST FRONT GROUP CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) in yet another attempt to limit free speech says, “U.S. leaders should reject anti-Muslim rhetoric prompted by Fort Hood shootings.”
WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A prominent national Muslim civil rights (HAH!) and advocacy organization today called on American political and religious leaders to challenge Islamophobes (It isn’t Islamophobia when they really ARE trying to kill you) engaged in a rhetorical backlash to the recent shooting spree at Fort Hood in Texas.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said anti-Muslim extremists are upset that mainstream media outlets have largely avoided blanket indictments of Islam and Muslims in their coverage of the attack. “It is the proper role of national religious and political leaders to challenge those who promote hatred and intolerance,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. “Extremists who seek to exploit the Fort Hood tragedy are doing a disservice to our nation and to the values of justice and inclusion on which it is based.”
Awad cited a number of statements by anti-Muslim extremists seeking to exploit the Fort Hood attack to generate hostility to Islam and to marginalize American Muslims (American Muslims ARE responsible for Ft Hood and other attacks on Americans). LINK
VIRGINIA Republican GOVERNOR-ELECT refuses to disavow Pat Robertson’s anti-Islam remarks. HOORAY!
Virginia Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell would not disavow Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson’s recent claim that Islam is not a religion, but “a violent political system.” McDonnell, though, stressed that he reached out to Muslims and visited mosques in Virginia throughout the governor’s race and will continue to do so when he takes office in January.
Tunku Varadarajan, a professor at NYU’s Stern Business School suggested that the term “going postal” be changed to “going Muslim.”
“Going postal” is a piquant American phrase that describes the phenomenon of violent rage in which a worker–archetypically a postal worker–“snaps” and guns down his colleagues.
As the enormity of the actions of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan sinks in, we must ask whether we are confronting a new phenomenon of violent rage, one we might dub–disconcertingly–“Going Muslim.” This phrase would describe the turn of events where a seemingly integrated Muslim-American–a friendly donut vendor in New York, say, or an officer in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood–discards his apparent integration into American society and elects to vindicate his religion in an act of messianic violence against his fellow Americans. This would appear to be what happened in the case of Maj. Hasan. FORBES
Widely-syndicated conservative columnist Cal Thomas said the Fort Hood shooter’s “preference for Muslim clothing” should have alerted authorities “that he might be a time bomb waiting to go off.”
By now, the script should be disturbingly familiar. Whether in the Middle East, or increasingly in America, a fanatical Muslim blows up or goes on a shooting spree, killing many. This is quickly followed by “condemnations” from “Muslim civil rights groups,” such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations. We are then warned by the president and some newspaper editorials not to jump to conclusions, or to stereotype. Yasser Arafat wrote this script, which he used with great success throughout his bloody career as a terrorist.
If you were an enemy of America, not only would you fight overseas and develop nuclear weapons (Iran), you also would engage in an even more effective strategy by striking at America’s underbelly. This is our most vulnerable region because we now tolerate virtually everything, indulge in political correctness and subscribe to a bogus belief that if radical Islamists can see we mean them no harm, they will mean us no harm.
No amount of evidence – from Koran verses urging the killing of “infidels” to cries of “God is great,” reportedly shouted by the alleged Ft. Hood shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan – will cure our self-deception. Sun Tzu famously wrote that all war is deception. But it takes two to deceive, and the United States is behaving like a willing partner. THE STATE
Oklahoma freelance writer Timothy Rollins said Muslims should be kicked out of the armed forces.
In a recent column he stated, “What [the Fort Hood] attack does is further strengthen the case for the honorable discharge of all Muslims from the United States Armed Forces, regardless of the degree to which they may adhere to their faith.”
“How many bands of marauding Catholics do we have going around killing people in the name of the Pope? How many bands of marauding Mormons do we have going around killing in the name of Joseph Smith? We don’t. Almost every style of terrorist attack in the United States since 9-11 has had a Muslim connection in one way or another,” Rollins said. LINK
The American Family Association has called for a ban on Muslims in the military.
In an article titled “No More Muslims in the U.S. Military,” the group’s Director of Issues Analysis Bryan Fischer wrote: “It is time, I suggest, to stop the practice of allowing Muslims to serve in the U.S. military. The reason is simple: the more devout a Muslim is, the more of a threat he is to national security. Devout Muslims, who accept the teachings of the Prophet as divinely inspired, believe it is their duty to kill infidels. Yesterday’s massacre is living proof. And yesterday’s incident is not the first fragging incident involving a Muslim taking out his fellow U.S. soldiers.” Director of Issues Analysis, Bryan Fischer, who argues that the tragedy at Ft. Hood is the sign to start the ban. “This is not Islamophobia, it is Islamo-realism,” Fischer says. LINK
Left-wing media attacks Right-wing media for responding to Fort Hood attack by demonizing Muslims.
As highlighted by Media (doesn’t) Matters
Debbie Schulssel: Think of Hasan “whenever you hear about how Muslims serve their country in the U.S. military.” In a November 5 post — headlined “Shocker: Man Who Shot Up Ft. Hood Soldiers Was Muslim” — right-wing commentator Debbie Schulssel wrote:
UPDATE: Nidal Malik Hasan isPalestinian. Figures…Yeah, I wonder if that “Palestinian” town is actually Palestinian or part of the Islamic encroachment on Israel. Either way, he had every opportunity given to him by American taxpayers. And he murdered them anyway. This isn’t just the Palestinian way. It’s the Islamic way. And we expect Israel to make peace with guys like this?
And, oh, yeah, think of Major Malik Nadal Hasan (and all of the other Muslim American traitorous soldiers in the U.S. military who’ve shot their fellow soldiers up and killed them or otherwise helped the enemy), whenever you hear about how Muslims serve their country in the U.S. military.
Well, actually, they do serve “their country” in the U.S. military. And their country is Dar Al-Islam and greater Koranistan. “It’s Islamic terrorism, stupid. Wait, that’s repetitive. It’s Islam, stupid.”
Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs: Shooter is in the “pious Muslim category,” has “such Islamic bravery.” In a November 5 blog post, Pamela Geller wrote: ” ‘Six months ago Major Hasan came to law enforcement attention for posting blogs supporting suicide bombing.’ This puts him in the pious Muslim category.” In a November 6 post, she wrote: “The pig jumped on a table and was shooting down on the crowd, which is why he could get so many off. Jihad Hasan was shooting soldiers in the back. Such Islamic bravery.”
Michelle Malkin links shooter to other “Muslim Soldiers with Attitude.” In her November 6 post headlined “The massacre at Fort Hood and Muslim soldiers with attitude,” Fox News contributor Michelle Malkin linked the alleged Fort Hood shooter to “all those who came before Hasan,” highlighting her March 2003 column on “Muslim soldiers with attitude” who are “suspected of infiltrating our military, endangering our troops and undermining national security” and referencing “Muslim sniper” John Muhammad and “Muslim US soldier Hasan Abujihaad.”
Left-wing media says Right-wing media blame shooting on “political correctness,” call for “special debriefings” of American Muslims(as if that’s a bad thing)
Tucker Carlson: “Could it be that our military is so politically correct… to be careful about treatment of Muslims” that this happened? On the November 6 edition of Fox News’ Fox & Friends, co-host Gretchen Carlson asked: “Could it be that our own military is so politically correct right now … to be careful about treatment of Muslims that they would have allowed this to go by?”
Michelle Malkin: “Political correctness is the handmaiden of terror.” Commenting on “The whitewashing of jihad by the MSM,” shewrote: “I’ve said it many times over the years and it bears repeating again as cable TV talking heads ask in bewilderment how all the red flags Hasan raised could have been ignored: Political correctness is the handmaiden of terror.”
Mark Steyn: People afraid to report suspicious Muslim activity, lest they end up “in sensitivity-training hell for the next six months.” On the November 6 edition of Rush Limbaugh’s radio show, guest host Mark Steyn said: “You think about the next time you see some behavior that’s suspicious — guys praying, they’re doing goofy things, they’re talking about Saddam Hussein, all the things that the flying imams did. And you think to yourself, ‘Do I call Homeland Security? No, I’m going to be tied up in sensitivity-training hell for the next six months. Maybe it’s better to just forget about it, to ignore it.’ And that is becoming the problem now, that we’re conditioned to ignore it.”
Brian Kilmeade suggested that “it’s time for the military to have special debriefings” of U.S. soldiers who are Muslim. On the November 6 edition of Fox & Friends, Brian Kilmeade asked Geraldo Rivera, “Do you think it’s time for the military to have special debriefings of Muslim Army civili– officers, anybody enlisted?” He added: “Because if I’m going to be deployed in a foxhole, if I’m going to be sitting in an outpost, I’ve got to know that the guy next to me is not going to want to kill me.”
And if you think so-called ‘moderate’ Muslims in America are not a threat as well, read these comments posted on a Muslim-American website right after the Fort Hood massacre:
