Wait’ll the 9/11 terrorists go on trial in NYC. Will the jury have to be sequestered behind a two-way mirror for their protection from the terrorist spectators who will be in the courtroom?
TERROR MOM AND TWO JURORS TOSSED FROM TRIAL
Another day in the trial of Aafia Siddiqui, another outburst. The MIT-educated Pakistani “terror mom” turned into a holy terror today when a federal judge booted her from a federal courtroom in Manhattan following yet another rant.
This time, Siddiqui was joined by two jurors, who were excused in a separate issue after they were threatened by a spectator, after they saw him (unidentified man in a Muslim headdress) point his fingers like a gun and silently curse the jury. the judge said.
Siddiqui — known for her untimely outbursts that are usually followed by her being escorted out of the courtroom — this time acted out as a chief warrant officer was testifying about the injuries he suffered in Afghanistan last year. The officer, who only gave his rank and not his name, said three men were killed along with an interpreter after the bomb went off. “I lost a couple of organs,” he said.
As the officer continued with his gut-wrenching account, Siddiqui got up and shouted, “I feel sorry for you.” She continued, “Don’t do that. It will make America look bad in international court.” That’s when the judge tossed her out.
Siddiqui, 37, a neuroscientist who studied at MIT, wasn’t in the courtroom for most of Day 1 last week in Manhattan federal court, having been booted out after just 90 minutes for an outburst.
Prosecutor David Rody displayed her handwritten plans for attacking landmarks, including the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. In that instance, Siddiqui then threw her arms in the air and ranted that she had been held in an “secret prison” where her “children were tortured.”
She is charged with firing a rifle at American personnel while in custody in Afghanistan in 2008. Meanwhile, the two jurors who were taken off the case — Nos. 10 and 12 — were replaced with alternates. The RAGHEAD who threatened them from the gallery, a man who was not immediately identified, was later arrested. The charges are not yet known. NY POST
