Multiple Bomb Attacks kill dozens in Iraq. At least 27 people have been killed in twin car bombings in Baghdad in attacks targeting the state-run Trade Bank of Iraq. More than 50 others were injured. The attacks come just one week after gunmen stormed the country’s Central Bank. Police officers and civilians were among the dead.

The bombings and casualties are the worst in the Iraqi capital in over a month. Iraqi officials say a bomb attack in the northern part of the country has killed eight people, including six police officers. The attack came less than 24 hours after twin car bombs killed at least 26 people in the capital, Baghdad.

Iraq has been hit by a wave of violence. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, but an al-Qaida front group (the Islamic State of Iraq) has said it carried out last week’s suicide attack on Iraq’s Central Bank in Baghdad. VOA NEWS
