16-year-old Iranian Youth Olympian withdraws from finals rather than compete against an Israeli

Iranian officials forced 16-year-old Mohammad Soleimani to pull out of the finals even though he stood a very good chance of winning the gold medal in Tae Kwon Do at the Youth Olympics in Singapore.

Soleimani was more than up to the challenge but had to pretend to have “injured a leg.

The reason for this imposed ban by the Iranian team? The 16-year-old would have to fight against Israeli Gili Haimovitz. This has to be stopped by all means possible, even if it would mean that the opponent receives the victory without a fight.  In order not to have to stand under the Israeli flag, the Iranian delegation disclosed that Soleimani was so seriously injured that he had to be brought to the hospital.

The Israeli athlete won the contest by default.  PI NEWS
