Was this song Obama’s personal request?

At the State Dinner last week in honor of Chinese President Hu Jintao on January 19, 2011, pianist Lang Lang played “My Motherland” as part of the entertainment, a song which is very anti-American.

American ThinkerAbout six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began performingt a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”  The movie and the tune are widely known among Chinese, and the song has been a leading piece of anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for decades.

This was no unintentional diplomatic faux pas. This was crudely obvious, deliberate effort to smack down the United States and elevate China, as Mr. Lang makes crystal clear. The news of this song being played at the White House was met with knowing celebration by patriotic Chinese, and with shock and disgust by patriotic Americans.
