PASTOR TERRY JONES back in 'Occupied' Dearborn today

Jones was speaking in front of City Hall. Jones’ supporters were carrying American flags which immediately brought out the riot police.

WXYZ (H/T Rob E) – DEARBORN, Mich., (WXYZ) – Several counter protestors were arrested at Terry Jones’s Dearborn city hall protest, but the event itself was largely uneventful. The protest began shortly before 5:00 p.m.

Video from Chopper 7 showed several dozen supporters waiting for Jones to begin speaking. Across the street from City Hall a couple hundred counter protestors also gathered on the sidewalk.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. the counter protestors broke through the barricades and charged across Michigan Avenue. However, police quickly pushed them back across the street. Several people were arrested after calm was returned.

The protestors stormed across the street after Jones came down the steps at city hall. After the crowd surged forward, Jones was taken back up the steps where he continued his protest at the podium.

Alongside Pastor Jones were protestors from Stand Up America Now!.

The group was there protesting, “…the presence of radical Muslims and their promotion of Sharia or Islamic Law within the United States,” according to their press release.

Stand Up America Now and Pastor Jones also invited, “every American who still believes in the freedom and rights that our Constitution guarantees to stand with us.”
