In the few short months since the riots began in Tunisia and Libya, Lampedusa has been under siege by more than 40,000 illegal aliens, all demanding to be given free handouts, food, shelter, and either asylum or free passes northward to France or England. The Italian government is struggling to handle the hoards of Muslim invaders who are sleeping in the streets, littering the parks, setting buildings on fire, and making the local residents afraid to leave their homes.
Lampedusa relies on tourism for its livelihood in the summer, and the influx of Muslim illegals has destroyed this year’s tourism season. But leave it to al-Jazeera to find the one or two Italians on the island who sympathize with the invaders.
