HA HA! Muslims outraged over Newt Gingrich's comparison of Muslims to Nazis

It’s about time someone gave these Muslims a real reason to be outraged. But that’s what happens when you tell the truth about people who lie for a living.

ABC NEWS –Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s comments comparing Muslims to Nazis at the GOP debate Monday night have sparked a firestorm in the blogosphere, where liberals, and even some conservatives, have pounced on the former House speaker for what they view as excessive fear mongering. (Not here, BNI gives props to Newt for saying what the rest of us have known for a long time – Muslims and Nazis were in bed together in WWII and today, Muslim behavior toward non-Muslims and especially Jews would make Hitler proud)

“Of course Newt is taking it too far. He is appealing to the basest instincts of a very small minority of folks,” said Matthew Dowd, ABC News consultant who served as chief strategist on George W. Bush’s 2004 re-election team. “Either he is doing this for political purposes to distract people from a campaign in disarray, which is bad, or he actually believes it, which is scary.”

At the New Hampshire debate Monday night, Gingrich responded to questions about loyalty tests for administration officials, saying, “The Pakistani who emigrated to the U.S., became a citizen, built a car bomb which luckily failed to go off in Times Square, was asked by the federal judge, how could he have done that when he signed and when he swore an oath to the United States. And he looked at the judge and said, ‘You’re my enemy. I lied.'”

“Now, I just want to go out on a limb here. I’m in favor of saying to people, if you’re not prepared to be loyal to the United States, you will not serve in my administration, period,” Gingrich added to applause. (Problem is, you
can never believe any Muslim who takes a loyalty oath, because they are taught to lie to infidels)

But Gingrich didn’t stop there, despite an attempt by moderators to interject. He compared hiring Muslims to how Americans dealt with Nazis in the 1940s. (Sheer brilliance). There are some genuinely bad people who would like to infiltrate our country. And we have got to have the guts to stand up and say, ‘No,'” he concluded.

Muslim groups expressed outrage, saying Gingrich was merely exploiting Muslims for personal and political gain.”It’s really reprehensible when you have a mainstream presidential candidate equate Muslims with Nazis and communists,” said Ibrahim Hooper, communications director at Terrorist Front Group CAIR -Council on American-Islamic Relations. “It is what we’ve come to expect from the right wing of the political faction.”

CAIR also assailed GOP candidates Herman Cain and Rick Santorum for their comments on the question of sharia law taking over the U.S. court system.

UPDATE: One GOP candidate DIDN’T outrage any Muslims. And here’s the disgusting headline about it from the Washington Post: ‘GOP hopefuls trafficked in crackpot sharia panic, with one exception: Mitt Romney.’

Yet another reason to reject Romney, soft on terrorists. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney distinguished himself from his GOP rivals at the debate yesterday in an important self-destructive way: He refused to take the sharia-panic bait.

Following up on a question asked of Herman Cain’s proposal to make prospective Muslim employees take special “loyalty oaths,” Romney notably declined to demonize Muslims or latch on to the right-wing conspiracy that the U.S. is in impending danger of coming under Taliban-style Islamic law:

Well, first of all, of course, we’re not going to have Sharia law applied in U.S. courts. That’s never going to happen. We have a Constitution and we follow the law. I think we recognize that the people of all faiths are welcome in this country. Our nation was founded on a principal of religious tolerance. That’s in fact why some of the early patriots came to this country and we treat people with respect regardless of their religious persuasion.

Romney’s colleagues however, doubled down on their Islamophobia. Cain tried to have it both ways, defending his position while insisting that he was only worried about the Muslims who are “trying to kill us,” while Newt Gingrich implicitly defended McCarthy era loyalty oaths, stating that “we did this in dealing with the Nazis and we did this in dealing with the communists,” as though being a Muslim were in and of itself evidence of wanting to overthrow the country. More to the point, the McCarthy-era loyalty oaths were a national embarrassment, useless for weeding out subversives but effective at chilling free speech and curtailing freedom of association. READ MORE of this crap
