CAIR (The Council on American-Islamic Relations) of Florida, Tampa chapter posted an article on Facebook on December 3rd, stating that it had given seven presentations on Islam in the last week to over a dozen different AP world history and world religions public high school classes in the Tampa area.
Florida Political Press -According to the report, which did not name the high schools visited, the presentations covered topic such as basic Muslim beliefs, Islamic history, Islam and human rights, religious tolerance and diversity, and popular misconceptions about Islam.
Which immediately raises the question how is an organization that is widely believed to be linked to terrorism gaining access to high school students in Florida public schools and are these students being subjected to indoctrination and propaganda?
CAIR adamantly denies any links to terrorism, however, in March 2010 the FBI issued a letter to Congress affirming CAIR’s terrorist ties.

Shibly also emphasized that the fear-mongering against American Muslims today orchestrated by Islamophobes is no different than the discrimination many other religious, ethnic and racial groups faced as they integrated into the fabric of American Society. “We must value the freedoms, rights and respect for diversity, that distinguishes our nation and never take such freedoms for granted. When one group of Americans lose their rights, we all do.”
CAIR Tampa also lectured this week at one of the world’s top Arts College’s on Islamophobia and challenges facing American Muslims in addition to lecturing at an Adult Education University on Islamic beliefs and history.

As the original story details, there are multiple, well established ties between CAIR and various terrorist groups.

Shibly defended a radical imam killed by the FBI after he opened fire on agents moving in to arrest him. In an October 2009 post, Shibly questioned the use of force against Imam Luqman Abdullah even though the criminal complaint against him made it clear Abdullah advocated violent jihad and urged followers never to surrender peacefully to authorities.
Shibly seems to have adopted anti-Semitic and anti-Israel views of his own. In one of his Facebook notes, Shibly equates Israelis with Nazis, juxtaposing images from the Holocaust with images of Israeli soldiers interacting with Palestinians. He also describes Israel as an apartheid state and frequently denounces its “state terrorism.”
Shibly’s disdain for Israel is matched only by his ill-will towards America. In addition to expressing distrust of government agencies, like the FBI, Shibly has also linked to an article calling President Bush a war criminal; accused America of being imperialistic and consumed by its pursuit of oil; and endorsed conspiracy theories about U.S. actions, including questioning the U.S. 9/11 narrative and promoting the idea that the U.S. backs Iraqi suicide bombings to justify its presence there.
In the 2010 interview, Shibly said that Sharia law, and not democracy, should be implemented in countries where Muslims are the majority.

Red County Yesterday, Hillsborough Republican Executive Committee (REC) member Scott Barrish courageously responded to a hit piece or more appropriately a propaganda piece directed against Congressman Allen West and Senate Candidate Adam Hasner, posted in the St. Pete Times by CAIR Tampa’s Executive Director Hassan Shibly titled “US Muslims are not the Enemy”.
BARRISH stated in his post “Islam is NOT a religion, but rather a theocracy. It uses elements of religion to bind a spiritual, cultural and system of law elements. It is NOT a pluralistic ideology for it seeks complete domination”.
Barrish’s response has Shibly asking the state and national Republican Party to repudiate his statement, the only problem for Shibly is Barrishs statements correctly reflect the core tenants’ of Islamic Doctrine and Sharia Law (i.e. Sharia Law Manual – Book of Justice, Book “O” 9.0 Warfare against the non-Muslim to establish the religion, this verse is the final and authoritative verse on the Jihad, however most of the Jihad we see in America is a Cultural Jihad prior to the major conflict stage as recently seen in Egypt and Libya).
The REC of Broward County recently denied Nezar Hamze of CAIR Miami membership due to the many CAIR controversies to include their designation as a co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in US history (US vs HLF Trial, Texas 2008), in which CAIR members were sentenced to 65 years in prison.
While few reject the goal to “promote cooperation and understanding between diverse faiths and cultures”, one has to ask if CAIR-Tampa is the proper and prudent choice to be gaining an audience with young, impressionable high school students.
And were parents from Hillsborough County even made aware that CAIR-Tampa would be in the classroom? Who is responsible for approving this? Do parents have access to the material covered with their children by the group? Is this happening at other school districts in Florida? Would you be comfortable with this arrangement at your local school? There seems to be more questions than answers at this point.

@Dragon – I’m a grandmother in Orlando and this is honestly the first time I have heard this was going on in our schools. Since my children are grown and gone, I don’t know much about what’s happening in the public schools anymore. Our local media would NEVER report anything like this. I will be on the phone Monday A.M. first thing to the Orange County School Board to protest this should it happen here in Orlando. I will find out! I am soooo sick of these scumbags coming into our schools to talk ANYthing with the young minds of OUR country! Hell, I’m just sick to death of them period. Once we get the muzzie-in-chief out of our White House, maybe we can start to change how these idiots are acting out in our country. As a matter of fact, we get the news here in Orlando about whats happening in Tampa, so I will be calling my local media and asking them why they aren’t reporting this so that the parents can start raising immortal hell.

A question – In your state people, how would you know this is happening?
Ronda, if parents complain enough, it sometimes makes it to the local news, where it might get picekd up by blogs like this one (usually on reader tip). It seems the main source for this information getting to a wider audience comes from bloggers who post the story, after which it usually gets reposted on Facebook and other conservative websites. The only time the liberals post it is to condemn bloggers like this one for being Islamophobic about the issue.
I wish there was one website dedicated to finding and reporting these kinds of stories around the country.

Why in the world would the school board of Hillsborough County allow an official from C.A.I.R. speak to the students? The parents of these students should demand that this stop! Mr. Shibly speaks of the intolerance of the American society toward Muslims, however does he speak of the intolerance of nations founded on Islam for Christians and Jews? Muslims enjoy more rights in America than they do in their homeland.

I respectfully disagree about going to the school board and complaining. Trust me, the school board just wants your money, and they could not care less about what you think or what you want (like school boards everywhere). Parents, please, pull your kids out of public school. They are being indoctrinated to love and accept Islam in public schools everywhere. Please home school them (home-schooling is legal in all 50 states) or put them in a good private school, preferably Christian or Jewish. Even there, check the curriculum and monitor the teachers. Many private schools are controlled by Leftists.
Only by home-schooling your children do you know exactly what they are being taught. After pulling your own children out of public school, you should then turn your fury toward the county government that allows terrorists to speak to your children, unchallenged, in public schools that we are all forced to pay for! Raise hell with your state legislature and the Governor, as well!
P.S. Before you say you cannot afford to home-school, ask yourself this question: can you afford not to? Also, in Florida, almost all private schools have scholarships, including some that are actually sponsored by the state of Florida. Call your local Christian or Jewish school and ask! You may be shocked at how much scholarship money is available to you!

IPlease check out the public government schools in jacksonistan (formerly, Jacksonville, Florida). I saw a U-tube presentation by one of the kindergaten teachers in The Beaches area which had her class singing to the tune of”Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, only the words were “Shihad Khan is coming to Town”. mr Khan bought the NFL team (Jaguars), and I’m sure that the students were not being indoctrinated, but it did seem to be a bit strange for a group of four and five year old children to identify Shihad Khan with Santa Claus. Can the same RIGHTS and FREEDOMS be applied to JEWS and CHRISTIANS to teach in the public schools about the TORAH, the 10 Commandments, and the BIBLE… Where is ACLU with these things on ISLAM being teached in the public schools… Look at Dearborn Michigan, all ISLAM… and within these public schools the High School in Dearborn during the ISLAM holiday celebrations the Football Coach had the team practice in the nigh hours so it would not spoil the fast of the ISLAM religion… What would happen if JEWS or CHRISTIANS wanted to declare a school wide fast to follow and PRAYER in the public schools in Dearborn, would they be able to do this too with the same RIGHTS and FREEDOMS of America… or would ACLU come and sue the public school … Why is it okay to follow ISLAM and share the ISLAM ways but not okay for the JEWS or CHRISTIANS to display the 10 commandments or have PRAYER… What is the difference?
