The Bill states: ”No court, arbitrator, administrative agency, or other adjudicative mediation or enforcement authority may render any judgment predicated on any religious code or enforce any provisions of any religious code.” Litigation jihadists from CAIR are sharpening their knives.
SDPB A bill that prohibits the judicial enforcement of any religious codes was passed by the State House of Representatives. Proponents say this bill codifies a 2010 State Supreme Court decision dealing with religion and government. Republican State Representative Roger Hunt of Brandon says the bill also deals with a concern over Sharia Law. “It also gives us the provision needed in essence deal with religious codes that might be sought to be utilized and forced in the state of South Dakota,” Hunt said.
Hunt has been a major backer of anti-abortion bills throughout most of his legislative career. Critics say Sharia law is in no way a threat in the United States. No one spoke in opposition to the bill in committee. It passed with a vote of eight to five and goes next to the Senate.
The CAIR video below attacks David Yerushalmi as being anti-Islam AND anti-Jew (Despite his being a religious Jew himself) . He is the head of the anti-Islam hate group Society of Americans for National Existence (SANE), which on its now password-protected website offered a policy proposal that would make “adherence to Islam” punishable by 20 years in prison. The Communist-based Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) named Yerushalmi a member of the “anti-Muslim inner circle.”
American Freedom Law Center Senior Counsel David Yerushalmi was recently recognized by the New York Times as “The Man Behind the Anti-Shariah Movement.” Here is what the New York Times had to say: “Mr. Yerushalmi has come to exercise a striking influence over American public discourse about Shariah. Working with a cadre of conservative public-policy institutes and former military and intelligence officials, Mr. Yerushalmi has written privately financed reports, filed lawsuits against the government and drafted model legislation that recently swept through the country—all with the effect of casting Shariah as one of the greatest threats to American freedom since the cold war.
Naturally, terror-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on Muslims and other people of conscience in South Dakota and nationwide to urge elected officials in that state to reject House Bill 1253 (HB 1253), the sponsor of which admits is designed to attack Sharia, the religious principles of American Muslims.
