Did Obama use the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategy of deception to get elected or is the Brotherhood using Obama’s phony campaign of moderation to grab power now?
Egypt’s radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood is on the brink of taking over Egypt after nominating a candidate for May’s presidential elections.
After vowing not to run a candidate for president, the Brotherhood’s ‘Freedom and Justice Party’ announced this weekend nomination of Khairat al-Shater, who was jailed for 7 years under the Mubarak administration for outlawed Brotherhood activities.
The Freedom and Justice Party and the Salafist al-Nour party, both fundamentalist Islamic groups, which together control both houses of the Egyptian parliament, will play a dominate role in rewriting the constitution which will, if they get their way, impose sharia law on what until now had been a predominantly secular state. The large Coptic Christian population will be jeopardy under this regime.
