darwin NEVER proved his theory correct, nor has any one since proven his theory correct. despite this, evolution has been taught as fact for decades in our schools.

I couldn’t disagree more. I am an atheist and feel very accountable for my actions as I try to live a moral life. I don’t need the concept of God to know what is right or wrong – but I do understand that this might help others.
I also don’t believe that a belief in evolution is mutually exclusive to a belief in God. The Catholic church certainly doesn’t have an issue with this.
The evidence behind Evolution is too compelling to dismiss, but I am sure BNI doesn’t want this thread to turn into a debate about evolution so I am happy to agree to disagree.
briefly, please don’t confuse macro and micro evolution. we are genetically programmed to adapt to our environment, which is why humans are different colors, and animals of the same species may look different also. macro evolution, that one species turned completely into another one(apes to humans)has never proved to be true. evolutionists have engaged in many hoaxes to try to prove themselves correct. actual evidence supports the original bible, for example, millions of fossils and the earths’layers show that a massive flood happened. too many examples to list–there are some good books out there on evolution.
as for morality, that comes from G-d. you were influenced by biblical-derived ethics and morals imbedded in our society, which you incorporated into your life since childhood. if you were born in arabia, bacha bazi and beastiality would be moral to you.
i think thomas paine and ben franklin had a discussion about this. paine insisted that morality and G-d were separate issues. franklin disagreed, G-d is the source of morality that infuses our culture.

I agree with No.1 Infidel’s comment about God and morality. Here’s why. If God, or any sort of Supreme Being (no matter what you call it, Allah, JHVH, Lord, etc.), is such a great arbiter of morality, then why does this website forum exist?
On this website, we spend our time criticizing and castigating a religion that believes in a Supreme Being they call Allah, Creator and Master of the Universe, and their various interpretations of Sharia (Islamic) Law. And we all agree that that law that they follow is utterly cruel, brutal, hypocritical, and utterly immoral. Yet they insist that their law is the Law of God, not to be violated or broken.
Here’s the point. These people believe in some sort of god or Supreme Being. Yet we all agree that they are utterly immoral.
But we can certainly extend that argument to other religions.
The Bible, in the Old Testament, Apocrypha, and the New Testament contain unbelivable acts of cruelty, moral ambiguity, and outright outrage.
Islam mandates stoning for adultery in the Hadiths. Did you know that such a punishment is also prescribed in the Bible? (Deut 22:22) Same for homosexuality. (Lev 18:22, Lev 20:13) So why don’t we stone people to death for hanky panky in Western society or for being gay? How about witchcraft which Saudis kill people for? (Deut 18:10-12, Ex. 22:17) Why don’t we execute people for this? And there are many examples.
Much of Sharia is based on the Bible, and they have many similar laws. But modern Christians and Jews don’t follow these things to the letter anymore. Why not?
