16-year-old Pakistani Christian girl savagely maimed by Muslims with battery acid for refusing to convert to Islam
For refusing to renounce her Christian faith, Julie Aftab’s Muslim attackers threw battery acid in her face and poured it down her throat. Aftab survived, but then she was poisoned while recovering in the hospital and then later shot. Somehow she held on.
Miraculously, a benefactor brought her to the United States where she underwent extensive surgery to repair the damage done by the battery acid. Catholic Charities took over after that and helped her recover and establish a life in the United States. Although she still suffers some health challenges from the acid attack, Aftab will soon obtain an accounting degree at the University of Houston and recently got engaged.
