It’s difficult to conjure up any compassion for a woman who despite being savaged with acid by her husband, tells her story with the qur’an prominantly on display behind her. Displaying the qur’an in such prominance makes a statement in and of itself. Despite horrific insults to her physical being as well as her position as mother to three sons, she remains faithful to the doctrine which has inflicted these harms upon her, and will raise the remaining son to follow the same doctrine as well.
With that in mind, I can simply shrug and move on. Islam is what Islam does.
