Islam had better NEVER be part of Germany

German President Joachim Gauck recently said in a newspaper interview that Muslims living in Germany are a part of the country, but that Islam is not. Not everyone agrees, unfortunately. How about asking the people who have to put up with the arrogant, anti-assimiliation Muslims in their neighborhoods?

Gatestone Institute The comments — Gauck is the ninth prominent German politician to voice an opinion about Islam — have sparked a new round in the on-going debate over the role of Islam and Muslim immigrants in Germany.

German Police raid radical Islamic groups to shut them down

During a May 31 interview with the German weekly newspaper Die Zeit, Gauck was asked about a quote from the previous German president, Christian Wulff, who during a keynote speech to mark the 20th anniversary of German reunification in October 2010, proclaimed that “Islam belongs in Germany” because of the four million Muslims who now live there. Germany has Western Europe’s second-biggest Islamic population after France, with Turks the single biggest minority.

Gauck responded by saying that Wulff had wanted to encourage Germans to open themselves up to the reality that “many Muslims live in this country,” but that he, Gauck, would have worded things differently than did Wulff.

Gauck continued, “I would have simply said that the Muslims who are living here are a part of Germany,” but that religion should not be the defining mark for immigrants there. “Anybody who has come here,” he said, “and does not just pay their taxes, but also likes to be here, partly because there is a level of justice and freedom not available in their country of origin, they are all one of us; so long as they adhere to our basic rules.”

The 72-year-old Gauck, a former Lutheran pastor, also said he could understand people who might ask, “Where has Islam made an impression on this Europe? Did it experience the Enlightenment, or even the Reformation? … I am highly anticipating the theological discourse about a European Islam.”

The leader of the environmentalist Green Party, Cem Özdemir, a German of Turkish descent, told the daily newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten that he could not understand Gauck’s differentiation between Islam and Muslims. “When the president states that Muslims who live here belong to Germany,” Özdemir said, “then of course Islam it part of Germany too.”

Alexander Dobrind, however, the general secretary of the Christian Social Union (CSU), a conservative political party based in the southern German state of Bavaria and a partner in German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s center-right ruling coalition, said, “Gauck has clearly found the right words. Germany is a country with a Christian character, a Christian history and a thoroughly Christian value system.”

Dobrindt’s comments directly contradicted those of fellow CSU politician Markus Söder, the finance minister of the state of Bavaria. On May 31, Söder surprised an audience of Turkish immigrants by declaring that “Islam is an integral part of Bavaria.”

Söder made the comments at a Muslim cultural festival sponsored by an organization called the Turkish-Islamic Union for Islamic Affairs (DITIB), which is controlled by the Turkish government. According to Fikret Bilir, the Turkish chairman of DITIB in the Bavarian city of Nuremberg, Söder was met with “great applause. We hope that he remains steadfast.”

In April 2012, German parliamentary spokesman Volker Kauder, in an interview with the newspaper Passauer Neue Presse, said: “Islam is not part of our tradition and identity in Germany and it therefore does not belong to Germany.”

Previously, Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said that Islam is not a part of Germany. Speaking to reporters at a news conference in March 2011, Friedrich said: “To say that Islam belongs in Germany is not a fact supported by history at any point.” He also said that although Muslims should be allowed live in Germany, Muslim immigrants ought to be aware of Germany’s “Western Christian origins” and learn German “first and foremost.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stressed that Germany’s roots are Judeo-Christian. She said: “Now we obviously have Muslims in Germany. But it is important in regard to Islam that the values represented by Islam must correspond to our constitution. What applies here is the constitution, not Sharia law.”

Shortly thereafter, Merkel addressed an October 16 meeting of her center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party in Potsdam outside Berlin, where she conceded that Germany’s efforts to build a post-war multicultural society had “failed utterly.”

In a landmark speech, Merkel said: “We are a country which at the beginning of the 1960s actually brought [Muslim] guest workers to Germany. Now they live with us and we lied to ourselves for a while, saying that they will not stay and that they will have disappeared again one day. That is not the reality. This multicultural approach — saying that we simply live side by side and are happy about each other — this approach has failed, failed utterly.”

Merkel also told the CDU annual conference in Karlsruhe that the debate about immigration “especially by those of the Muslim faith” was an opportunity for the ruling party to stand up confidently for its convictions. “We do not have too much Islam, we have too little Christianity. We have too few discussions about the Christian view of mankind.”

Merkel continued: “Germany needs more public discussion about the values that guide us and about our Judeo-Christian tradition. We have to stress this again with confidence. Then we will also be able to bring about cohesion in our society.” Merkel added: “We feel bound to the Christian image of humanity — that is what defines us. Those who do not accept this are in the wrong place here.”

In November 2010, the CDU passed a resolution stressing that Germany’s cultural identity (Leitkultur) is based on the “Christian-Jewish tradition, ancient and Enlightenment philosophy and the nation’s historical experience.” The resolution also states: “Our country benefits from immigrants who live and work here. But Germany does not benefit from a minority that refuses to integrate, does not want to learn our language, and denies participation and advancement to their children.… We expect that those who come here respect and recognize our cultural identity.”

The previous Interior Minister, Thomas de Maizière, rejected calls from some center-left Social Democrats and Greens for Islam to be recognized as a state religion along with Christianity and Judaism. Speaking on Deutschlandradio Kultur, he said: “If you now ask: Will Islam be put on the same level as the Judeo-Christian understanding of religion and culture that we have, then my answer is: not for the foreseeable future.”

The president of the state of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, has called for a halt to immigration from Turkey and Arab countries. In an interview with the German newsmagazine Focus, Seehofer said it was time for Germany to begin looking elsewhere for qualified workers, at a time when many parts of the labor market were facing grave shortfalls. “It is clear that immigrants from other cultural circles like Turkey, and Arab countries, have more difficulties,” he said, ” From that I draw the conclusion that we do not need any additional foreign workers from other cultures.”

The current debate over the role of Islam in Germany was launched in August 2010 with the publication of a book entitled, “Germany Does Away With Itself.” The best-selling book shattered Germany’s long-standing taboo on discussing the impact of Muslim immigration. It also resonated with vast numbers of ordinary Germans, who are becoming increasingly uneasy about the social changes that are transforming Germany, largely due to the presence of millions of non-integrated Muslims in the country.

The book, authored by 67-year-old Thilo Sarrazin, a renowned German banker who is also a long-time member of the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD), is now on its 22nd edition. At the last count, it has sold more than two million copies, making it one of the most widely read titles published in Germany since the Second World War.

Polls show that almost half of the German population (from across the political spectrum) agree with Sarrazin’s view that German immigration policies have produced a deeply divided society.

  1. All I have to say is, for the Germans, “Deutschland uber alles!”

Looking at what I DO know of German history, pogroms against Jews and the Nazi era have been somewhat like bad cases of rash that crop up once in a great while and cause all manner of trouble. It seems to me that hatred of the “other” is NOT, in fact, an historic German mode of being. The Germans, while acknowledging the wrongs done, should stop beating themselves up over it. Particularly since Germany’s arms trade’s best partner seems to be the Jewish State of Israel (Himmler, Goebbels, Hitler, et al., would be spinning in their graves over that, if they HAD graves).

Germans, be proud to be German. Tell the Mohammedans that they can either become German or LEAVE.

  2. I’m surprised. The Germans had no problem getting rid of the native-born patriotic Jews that were in their country so what’s holding them back now?
I mean this as sarcastically as possible as it makes me very angry that the Germans were so savage to a people who HAD DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HARM THEM. yet are all pussified when confronted with real savages. Same as with the Russians.

    • Well Now, Good point I suppose but the times are far different and as for the 1930s to the end of the war, it was German perception of a Jewish threat. It was based mainly on falsehood of course. Sadly, the leading lights of the Communist party and by which I mean, the mothers and fathers of that movement, just happen to have been mostly Jewish intellectuals. Since 1945, the Germans have been brainwashed into hating themselves. In the early 30s, there were sadly a number of Jewish ppl who mistakenly thought Hitler’s anti Jewish rants were aimed at the Jews of Eastern Europe, who many German Jews found to be an embarrassment and did not want them in the country. A Jewish comic once said that Hitler created more Jews out of non Jews then any man in history. In fact, many Jews who till then were ambivalent about their faith, became Jews for the first time. I could go.

      • Jazz, I’ve always found the German Jews in NYC to be the worst of the bleeding heart lefties. And they are arrogant and obnoxious, and erudite.

  3. It’s more semantics again. Change the definition when you don’t like the outcry.
Liberal progressives are a universal problem; put them in the same sand box as the mohommedists.

  4. I think a better translation of ‘Deutschland Schafft Sich Ab’ is ‘Germany SHAFTS Itself.’ More to the point. And who is doing the shafting? The liberals and elites who plotted and scheme to destroy the German identity. God will shaft them, but the West will suffer for their evil acts.

I’m sure there are some American flag headbags as well worn by righteous Muslims. Islam is not America, nor Europe. It is nothing but misery for the nonbeliever and deserves no respect

  5. BNI, Instead of just coming up news stories on muslims , shouldn’t you also give the readers few gems from koran/Hadiths like the one given below.

“Drink My Urine “, says Prohpet , “its pure”

In his book Religion and Life – Modern Everyday Fatwas, Egyptian Mufti Dr. Ali Gum’a wrote that the companions of the Prophet Muhammad would bless themselves by drinking his urine, and described an incident of urine-drinking from a hadith:

“Umm Ayman drank the urine of the Prophet, and the prophet told her: ‘This stomach will not be dragged through the fire of Hell, because it contains something of our Lord the Messenger of Allah…’

147 >>> ‘This blessing,’ Al-Gum’a added, ‘[can also] be done with the honorable saliva, sweat, hair, urine or blood of the Prophet. This is because anyone who knows the love of the Messenger of Allah is not repulsed [by these]; just as a mother is not repulsed by the feces of her son, this is even more so [in the case of] our Lord the Messenger of Allah, whom we love more than our fathers, sons, and wives.

Anyone who was or is repulsed by the Messenger of Allah must recant his faith.’

148 Following the ensuing uproar, Gum’a came to the defense of his fatwa, saying: ‘The entire body of the Prophet, whether exposed or hidden, is pure, and there is nothing in it- including his secretions – that [can] repulse anyone. His sweat smelled better than perfume.

Umm Haram would collect this sweat and distribute it to the people of Al-Madina.’

149 Dr. Gum’a added: ‘The hadith of Suhail bin Omar at Al-Hudaybiya says: ‘Oh Lord, I was with Kisra [the ruler of Persia] and with Kaisar [the ruler of Byzantium] and I saw no instance in which the leader was glorified like the Companions of the Prophet glorified Muhammad.

The second Muhammad spat, one of them would immediately hasten [to grab his saliva] and smear it upon his face.’

Hence, the ulema, including Ibn Hajar Al-Askalani, Al-Baihaqi, Al- Daraqutni and Al-Haythami, determined that the Prophet’s entire body was pure.’

150 Baraka Umm Ayman was a servant of the Prophet Muhammad as well as his nursemaid.

148 Al-Masri Al-Yawm (Egypt) May 20, 2007. 149 Umm Haram bint Milhan was a cousin of the prophet on his mother’s side, and one of the first to embrace Islam and emigrate to Mecca.
    150 Al-Masri Al-Yawm (Egypt) May 23, 2007. Dr. Gum’a made similar statements to the Egyptian weekly Al-Liwa Al-Islami, May 26, 2007.

    • Sujith, most of those passages have been posted here on a regular basis by me as well as many readers. Muslims always respond by saying they are bad translations.

You are preaching to a very well-informed audience here.

No Country needs any more Muslims, they don’t try and assimilate and they never will, they will continue to flow in to Western Societies and spread like the disease they are and it could be stopped, our politicians in the U.S. are a sleep and allowing this to only get worse.

  7. The German people must engage in the FREE expression of FREE SPEECH and FREE IDEAS that wasn’t allowed by Hitler.
If this happens, you would be happy at the amount of German citizens that spoke out against the non assimiliating, demanding, muslim intruders.
Normal Germans need to lose their assumed manners and speak out loudly now.

The welfare sucks with the signs “we are Germany” are far from right. Germans have always worn helmets, not headbags.

  8. We must stop pretending that Islam is the problem. Muslims are the problem because they act out the barbarism of Islam.
The idea of Hitler’s Fascism still exists, but so long as it has few followers it is not a threat.
We fought Nazis to destroy Fascism; we must fight Muslims to destroy Islam. Not a pleasant thought, but it is grounded in reality.

  9. No people in any country want more Moslems in their country.

The Leftards want Mozzies to use them and later BETRAY them.

  10. Just an update for you on the Golden Dawn in Greece. Some were predicting that Greeks would leave the “fringe” and vote for the main two parties in the coming election, however after the recent bitch-slapping that was handed to the commie on national T.V., the anti-immigration party might be set to make a two point gain this time around, if polls are accurate. What’s more, one of the leaders recently said that the party will make room for Greek children in hospitals by throwing out immigrants (who are mainly Turkish Muslims)!

After seeing those horrific images of the Israeli family slaughtered by Muslims, I can’t say my day wouldn’t be brightened by some payback against the death cult in Greece. And I pray to God that the Greeks decide to leave the Euro by not allowing the formation of a government again. The sooner that abomination dissolves, the better. It may mean rough economic times for a while, but two, much more important things will happen as a result. The first is that Barry Obama will be packing his bags. There’ll be no question about it. The second is that what we see here, in Germany and across Europe, may start to recede as the people wake up to the left’s failure. As soon as that happens, the concept of ‘Eurabia’ is dead. The bagheads will be sent home faster than when they were banished from the Iberian Peninsula. All it takes is for the right leaders to be elected, and its goodbye “Human Rights Commission”, hello “Deportation Committee”.

      • The Greek elections are happening TODAY, and apparently the people are in a very bad mood, looking down upon the parties that want to push for austerity and staying in the Euro.

  11. How in the hell is it going to be possible for muslims to adhere to basic rules, when these “rules” violate islamic teachings.

  12. What a magnificent article!!!! I’m sending it to everybody I know. The hidden message is: If Muslims want to live in Germany, they must leave Islam, because islam does not belong in Germany or anywhere in Europe, or anywhere in the Western world. If Muslims want to practice the principles of Islam, they must leave and go to live in an islamic country.

  13. Sorry, but when 3rd generation Turks have not learnt German and have no desire too, then you are not a part of Germany nor do you want to be.

Conform to the language and culture or leave.

  14. It will take Germany one thousand years to live down their Hitler Legacy and his pretend great friendship with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

And I think it will take almost that long before the Germans themselves forgive Angela Merkel who, raised in the former East Germany has no real concept of what true Freedom is all about. For her, it is normal to live side by side with “nit wits”. She talks the talk, but has not delivered a thing to the Germans who are so angry about these vandals hurting their Fatherland.

It is such a pity the Germans generally feel they cannot speak out as strongly as a Geert Wilders or others like Le Pen of France who are able to do so, but then they don’t have the history of Germany to cope with. And, as it is the duty of Muslims to kill off any attempt to silence them, places Germany in a bad position.

What is so funny is that most of the Muslims in Germany are from Turkey, and in Turkey hardly anyone wears the burqu. They don’t wear any of that shit and in Turkey they object to so many Muslims coming in from the East. They hate the Kurds and all Arabs really. I have heard them say it so many times. So, what makes a Turk? God alone knows, but I wish they would make up their minds exactly who it is they are and what they want, apart from our free lands handed over to them for nothing. They cant have it both ways, the Ottoman Empire has gone forever but some Turks just don’t get it.

    • Amen to that. It’s over guys. And it has been for a very long time. I was in Rome recently, and talk about non assimilation. Defiantly nasty.
