There are only about one million Muslims among Spain’s population of 47 million. But the way things are going, one would think there are ten times more. At a school in Tarrasa, Catalonia, Muslim students have forbidden non-Muslim classmates from eating ham sandwiches for lunch.
Islam in Europe Four Spanish mothers have written a letter denouncing the goings-on at a school in Tarrasa, Catalonia, where, they say, indigenous pupils are routinely harassed by their Muslim classmates and the school authorities always seem to take the side of the aliens.
According to the letter, the nursery school does not meet the legally-mandated minimum of having at least 20% of the class speaking the native language as their mother tongue! Arabic has become the dominant language in the corridors and playgrounds. The school is now sending out official notices in Arabic and Catalan only, not Spanish. In one class, 83.33% of the pupils speak Arabic. There is even a letter in Arabic posted on one of the school doors, in violation of the law.
The outraged mothers also claim that Muslim pupils prevent their own children eating sandwiches if the sandwiches contain ham or other meat derived from pigs. The offending sandwiches will simply be plucked from their hands and thrown in the bin by the Muslims.

In Lerida, another part of Catalonia, a Spanish court suspended a town’s ban on wearing the burqa following protests from a Muslim rights association.
Lerida, a Catalan town of 120,000 inhabitants, last month imposed Spain’s first ban on wearing the Islamic full-face veil in municipal buildings. But that decision was “provisionally suspended on Monday pending a definitive judicial decision,” a spokesman for the Catalan upper court in Barcelona said.
Ten thousand Muslims, half of them Moroccan, are registered residents of Lerida.
Immigration from Muslim countries has grown in Spain since the 1990s, with Catalonia in particular being home to a large community of Pakistani origin.

i would not eat a ham sandwich, or any other pork product, but i would never stop another from consuming it in my presence. they can legitimately request no one bring the meat into their homes or mosques, but not ban it in a public school or a workplace.

Pig parts are most versatile. Many different uses for them. Pig noses are good for smelling and rooting for truffles. Bacon for instance, not only is it yummy for breakfast, BLT’s, salads, baked beans and cheeseburgers, but uncooked, it makes a suitable, cheap substitute for Dr. Scholl’s sole inserts for muslim shoes left at the mosque entrance. A fun activity for an otherwise boring friday afternoon this summer.

There are Spanish are pro nationalist, extremely patriotic and do have balls, it’s the socialist left who aren’t nor possess them. It took years for the Spaniards to realise that socialism wasn’t working, not just financially due to high borrowing and massive spending but done with no guarantee of income due to the global economy. Socialism destroys economies, strikes by unionists (socialist left) don’t help, the strikes force the citizen to suffer, the government can ‘ride’ it out regardless of the flack.
They finally kicked out the left wing socialist government in favour of a (center) right wing Conservative last year. Immigration played a part in the vote too, mainly down to the EPP/PxC and their protests.
