During the month of Ramadan (Starting July 21st), Muslims fast from sunup to sundown which causes them to have foul-smelling breath all day long. (Oh my, the sheer delight of having to sit next to a fasting Muslim at work or at school for the whole month)
In the absence of food, there is a release of digestive juices that begins to break down and also affects the lining of the stomach which causes one’s breath to smell like spoiled food.
