Sell-out John McCain takes to floor of the Senate to denigrate Rep. Michele Bachmann and 4 other Representatives for demanding an investigation of Hillary Clinton’s Muslim Deputy Chief of Staff’s familial ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
We always knew McCain leaned left and was inexplicably close with Hillary in the Senate. In a disgusting display of Islamo-pandering, McCain shames himself and the US Senate with this Speech (excerpts below)
“Over the past decade, I have had the pleasure of coming to know Huma during her long and dedicated service to Hillary Rodham Clinton, both in the United States Senate and now in the Department of State.
I know Huma to be an intelligent, upstanding, hard-working, and loyal servant of our country and our government, who has devoted countless days of her life to advancing the ideals of the nation she loves and looking after its most precious interests.
“Recently, it has been alleged that Huma, a Muslim American, is part of a nefarious conspiracy to harm the United States by unduly influencing U.S. foreign policy at the Department of State in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist causes.
On June 13, five members of Congress wrote to the Deputy Inspector General of the Department of State, demanding that he begin an investigation into the possibility that Huma and other American officials are using their influence to promote the cause of the Muslim Brotherhood within the U.S. government. The information offered to support these serious allegations is based on a report, ‘The Muslim Brotherhood in America,’ produced by the Center for Security Policy.”
“ These allegations about Huma, and the report from which they are drawn, are nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack on an honorable citizen, a dedicated American, and a loyal public servant.”
“The letter alleges that three members of Huma’s family are ‘connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/or organizations.’ The letter and the report offer not one instance of an action, a decision, or a public position that Huma has taken while at the State Department that would lend credence to the charge that she is promoting anti-American activities within our government. These sinister accusations rest solely on a few unspecified and unsubstantiated associations of members of Huma’s family, none of which have been shown to harm or threaten the United States in any way. In my own naivete in 08 I was impressed by Obama’s speeches and decided to vote for him. Then I was exposed to Rev. Wright, Obama’s mentor for 20 years, and that did it for me. I would vote for McCain. But then I caught McCain on camera in a senior moment and it scared me. I sensed the onset of dementia or Alzheimer’s. I feared he wouldn’t last four years and so like too many other Americans I put on blinders, put out of my mind the Rev. Wright business and voted for the s.o.b., the biggest mistake of my life.
But now I can see that my assessment of McCain was not wrong. He was a hero and a decent man, but he’s lost it. The sad truth is, we had terrible options. Let’s be sure none of our friend vote idiotically in November. Romney may not be Abe Lincoln but he can save us from that socialist, fascist, Muslim African.
AT, I wasn’t sad that McCain lost because while he would have been a lot better on some issues he would have been the same as Obama on others, i.e., amnesty, bombing Libya, soft on the Muslim Brotherhood, etc. He would have been Obama lite and then Republicans would have been out of power for years after. I voted for McCain simply because and ONLY because of Sarah Palin – for whom I continue to have much respect and still hold out hope that one day she’ll have a TRUE and honest leadership position in this country!
As for those who dissed her for endorsing McCain in 2010, she did it out of political loyalty and gratitude for his bringing her on the ticket and to national attention. And, despite their political differences on many issues, they had a cordial personal relationship – which I know pisses off a lot of “purist” BNI readers, but shows that Palin takes the long view and doesn’t burn political bridges unnecessarily.

While I voted for McCain in 2008. I did so with great respect for his military service and what he gave to his country. I have been very disappointed in him since. He is a classic RINO. He may, or may not, have been better than what we got. Which I believe has turned into the worst presidency ever. And, we still really don’t know much about the man. We must change horses this time.
