Hopefully this mother won’t suffer the same fate as the French woman who was desperately trying to get her daughter back from her Saudi husband and turned up dead last week under suspicious circumstances.

Mom5, you’d be surprised how many people have told me to “tone it down.”
When I was a child, I didn’t know what was good for me. I didn’t want to listen to the words of wisdom, someone with wisdom like my mother would give. In fact, all her 12 children wanted her to “tone it down” but she didn’t care, she always said. “I am your mother, not your friend.”
She told us it was her job to keep us alert, aware, careful, and never let down our guard. She always told us that the world isn’t filled with good people, that we should never be naive. She said that if she at least imparted enough of this onto us at a young age, we would not grow up
ignorant, which can lead to danger, like walking straight into the lions den, never realizing that WE are the lunch.
She said, when I am not around to provide protection for you, I need you to protect yourself. Make smart choices, no who your enemies are, and always be aware of your surroundings! This allowed her to sleep peacefully at night.
As a mom of 5, I know just what she meant! Bonnie…be like my mom and don’t ever “tone it down.” Thank you!
Mom5, our mothers were very much alike. She also said she wasn’t there to be my friend. I guess I take after her, she never toned it down either. In my mind, ‘toning it down’ stinks of political correctness, which is never allowed here.
So, in the end, if I am going to go down, you can be sure it will be with both guns blazing!
