shalom from jerusalem. sigh. that was lovely. every year new p laces, schools, bet knessets, kibbutim are opening up services for yom kippur. the need grows and grows and grows. chabad had 318 services all over israel this year. we went to our bet knesset with all the other jews in white and sang and prayed and asked hashem to forgive us all and to destroy our enemies. yah i like that part the most. its a great feeling. you have to experience it first hand. and our arutz 1 tv programmed spent the first hour(all tv and radio programmes are off during yom kippur) talking about yom kippur and what it means. only now a hour later is the news on. a quiet yom kippur with no reports of trouble.
we know that the hard times are coming, gog and magog. but we have a day to get it right with hashem and with his blessings we will wipe out our enemies. amen amen amen.

Ruth, seeing the rapid buildup of troops in staging areas around Israel and knowing Obama has thrown you to the wolves,
I and most of the readers of BNI are praying extra hard for you and your fellow Israelis this year. Israel shall prevail.

a kind and gentle people the jews ! but fierce in battle against our common enemies , that is why at the end of the day you will find my bed roll in their camp.

Thank you, BNI, for posting the origins of the cry/prayer/pleading of Jews to ask G-d to forgive them for taking “false vows” of another faith (Christianity and, in time, pisslam) in order to stay alive – when, in their hearts & minds, they still maintained their Jewish faith. Thank God, there was, eventually, the Reformation and then the modernization of Christianity that still may have harbored anti-Semitism, but the Inquisition was eventually abandoned. Of course, many Jews (thousands, in fact) left the Iberian Peninsula and, in another wave of diaspora, settled throughout Europe and North Africa.
Today, Jews would JOIN the Christians were there to be another Holy Crusade (this time fighting for the sanctity of Judeo-Christian beliefs!), against our common enemy, islam, sharia law and the attempted return of another calliphate!

Now, THAT, the Story of Kol Nedrei soundtrack comes a LOT closer to actually being the “Prettiest sound on Earth” than the screeching sh– that our Muslime-in-Chief referred to as such, regarding the Pislamiic “call to Prayer”!!

My Dearest Bonnie,
Although I realize that the Jewish people have forsaken what “I” See as the Messiah for all men, I would like you, and others of the Jewish faith to realize that although We , as fundamental Christians disagree with you, We will fight for your right to disbelieve our doctrine.
Mainly because Jewish law is the basis for American Law.
The Jews have caused no destruction in the land.
But the idiots that are now running our current administration certainly have.
Even the Lord spoke in “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”,
Rev_3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
There’s your “Jino” that you speak of…….. Feel free to edit it if you like.
I am not proseltyzing here.
I am only showing a deep and profound gratitude for Jewish law, who I think , was complemented by Christ, and has taught me how to love. To love deep enough to fight for righteousness and life.
You are a very brave lady. I want to thank you for encouraging us all to understand the threat we face to our freedom, and our dignity.
I also want to thank your husband for keeping you safe through this whole ordeal.
Semper Fi my friend.

Thanks Mark. I have come to know many Christians since doing this blog and their love for Israel and Jewish law is beyond amazing, and puts many of my fellow Jews (leftists) to shame. I had never really been aware of the tremendous support Israel has from such a large population of Christians in this country, and I am truly humbled by it. In learning about all the evil that is inherent to Islam, my eyes have been opened to a side of Christianity that should be revered by every Jew in America.
Semper Fi, my friend.

Bonni, I love Israel, I will support her forever and ever and I love her people! I have been grafted in and I love, love, love the Jewish people. Thank you for what you’ve written here. It means so much! Have a blessed Yom Kippur and thank you so much for that beautiful rendition! It brought tears to my eyes!

He is the antichrist. When will people open their eyes to see this. Just look at what is happening since he took office. He is wrong however, in the long haul the future belongs to the people of Yahweh.

To all the Jews here and reading this Web-log:
May God Welcome and Hear your prayers most favourably; may He forgive all your sins that you truly repent of and grant you the strength, will and courage to amend your lives; and may He ALWAYS look favourably upon you as His Holy People that were chosen to ALWAYS perpetuate and commemorate the Ancient Abrahamic-Mosaic code that we Christians are likewise commanded to remember as part of the very root of our faith. May He ALWAYS BLESS you and Help you to stand through the time before that Glorious Day when His Messiah will come again to inaugurate the 1000-year of peace, joy and love that will show us all how we were always meant to live and serve Our Mutual Lord in loving harmony, mutual humility and holy tranquillity. May He always Be with you no matter what happens – and may He Bless and Grant Peace to His Holy City of Jerusalem. I, a fallen Christian aware of my many failings ask this of Our Lord in His Only-Begotten Son Jesus’ Name. Amen.

G-d, not allah, truly is great. When we sincerely repent and change, our sins are transformed into merits.
Rabbi Richman of the Temple Institute talks about REAL change we can believe in.
Let’s build a house of prayer for all nations.

Very touching. Very sad too.

For those of you who are Jewish and those of you who are not here are three beautiful versions of the Kol Nidre. I stand with Israel, always.
The Roger Wagner Chorale

Pigs, Johnny Mathis did one of the best renditions of Kol Nidre too.
September 26, 2012 @ 1:50 am
Yes, you’re right, it’s beautiful too.

Here is my “classical” suggestion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31uXHXGsmVc.
It has first the Dmítriy Dmitrjévich Shostakóvich Piano Quintet and then Max Bruch’s “Kol Nidre” for solo-‘cello plus string-orchestra. Here, the conductor is the ‘cellist Mísha Máyskiy (Mischa Maisky), who in the other piece joins pianist Martha Argerich, violist Júriy Bashmjét (Yuri Bashmet) and violinists Joshua Bell and Henning Kraggerud. Enjoy!!!

This is very interesting and moving, I was very interested in the Al Jolson post as I was just 10 days old when he recorded this.
September 25, 2012 @ 6:08 pm
I am an old, not so religious, white guy. But, I must say that this was both beautiful and moving. Thank you.
September 26, 2012 @ 1:06 am
Thanks, Tom, I am Jewish and not religious either, and until today, I didn’t know this story.
