I have a friend who works for the Hillary Clinton State Dept. As an embassy employee, her next assignment is in Afghanistan. I have sent her many of your emails, as a warning to her. She is not concerned about her safety, and thinks there are just a “few” bad musilims. She also feels well protected, by our Marines assigned for our embassies. (there are not enough American soldiers on the ground to make me feel safe) I just don’t get it. I sent her all the BNI emails on the murder of our ambassador..

To begin with, i’m a Tunisian muslim, i just hope i won’t be clashed at first sight here or that my comment won’t be accepted.
I am highly shocked by this video & moved to tears because this man happens to be a fellow Tunisian, no matter what is his religion.
I don’t know if this happened in Tunisia though, because the talking guy’s accent is far from being a Tunisian one.
Anyway, here in Tunisia, we are actually fighting this kind of people, you can’t even imagine how much! We struggle again fundamentalism everyday & fight for a laic country.
The problem is, Tunisia lacks true politic powers due to the past dictatorship, & people, most of them, voted out of sentimentalism & not reason, for some religious parties.
However, these actual people are now against them, at least in Tunisia, as they notice their lack of experience.
Anyway, i know you would hate a Tunisian muslim like myself, i won’t blame for that as you always find such videos in the Internet, but we are willing to change our country, not to please you, but to make it better for us.
SalahGo, thank you for posting. We know that Tunisia, under your former leaders, has been a very modern, secular Muslim country with many freedoms, especially for women. In view of that, please tell us why your people voted for a radical Islamist? I know when he was running for office, he was claimed to be a “moderate Islamist” which people in the West want to believe, but you know there are no moderate Islamists and now you are seeing the effects. Your modern society is going to be turned into a mini-Iran. How and why did you let that happen?
Well, first of all, our revolution was never about religion & islamization of the country, it was purely economic and social; poverty, educated people with no jobs, etc… The one who started the revolution by burning himself didn’t do because he was denied to go to a mosque or because women were unveiled, he did it because he couldn’t stand the poverty & joblessness he’s living in though he’s got a college degree.
During the revolution, our slogans were for freedom of speech & economic reforms, nothing religious at all! we didn’t even see these people, with their beards & chants, they didn’t even appear!
After our ex-leader flew away, we faced a political desert. No obvious parties to trust in case of elections, cuz there were none back then!
Well, there was one, the one ruling now, whose leader was hiding in UK (& yes, i blame the UK for accepting him as a refugee for almost 20 years!)
His party (of course a religious one, & even more extremist in the 90s when he hid in the UK) got a visa, & started its campaign while other normal democratic parties were forming like mine, “The Democratic Modernist Pole” looking for a laic Tunisia.
The religious party got enormous funds from the extrior, & we think there are Qataris, & started buying people’s votes, in the poorest areas.
Well, i guess in the 19s century, you could buy a vote a bread loaf in the US in this kinda areas, it was the same here.
Also simple-minded were convinced it’s a “sin” to vote for non-religious parties. So that’s why i said they voted out of sentimentalism.
After this party got elected, those extremists found a real liberty to act and do as they wish as police got orders not to inerfere with them anymore.
But they are getting out of control, and even the religious party in power is feeling the real risk they pull.
PS: it’s true that extremists now are a threat though they are really few of them, but for now, even the Shariaa got voted out by the religious party itself.
As for women’s rights, they will never disappear for be weakened. But if a woman is stupid enough to let a man tread on her, it’s really her loss, she’s free & we could not do anything against that…
My sister for exemple, she’s 18, unveiled, goes to high school however dressed she likes, listens to symphonic metal out loud… Noone ever harrassed her or made the slightest comment…

Salah, I do believe that the people were protesting for economic freedom reforms. What you didn’t know, and couldn’t know, that the Arab Spring was financed in large part by freedom-haters in the West such as George Soros, who is close to the Muslim Brotherhood, who has now gained control over Egypt, Tunisia (even though it’s called something else, I have no doubt they are affiliated with the Brothers), and soon in Syria and Jordan where they are poised to take over as soon as the leaders are overthrown. Libya seemed to have elected a fairly moderate leader, but he too, is losing control to al-Qaeda-linked militias.
I have no doubt the youth revolution was looking for real freedom and democracy, but by being coerced (by Muslim radicals lying to the people about how much they believed in freedom and democracy), they have elected sharia, which will become
the law of the land, sooner or later, whether you like it or not. You have traded economic misery for social and religious misery, and your economic future will suffer as a result.
As an American, I have no room to talk because half the population has re-elected a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate in Barack Obama, and we all will suffer from an increasingly downward economy, massive unemployment, huge taxes, and loss of our freedoms guaranteed in our constitution which Obama hopes to shred.
