A Saudi court sentenced a local man to death by beheading and ordered his crucifixion in the public sqare for two hours after he was convicted of raping and murdering a six-year-old boy.

Emirates The appeals court in the northern province of Jouf upheld a previous verdict against the 35-year-old Saudi, who confessed to the murder of the boy before burning his body.
Mohammed Salim Al Azmi was found dead with a charred body in an isolated area in the northern town of Qurayyat in April 2012 two days after he went missing. Police said his neighbour kidnapped the boy, raped him and then murdered him before setting him ablaze to get rid of the body.
In a similarly gruesome case last year, the Saudi Interior Ministry said Ahmed Al-Shamlani Al-Anzi was sentenced to death by beheading and then crucifixion, having his body displayed in public for a few hours for the kidnapping, raping and killing of an 11-year-old boy and for the killing of the boy’s father.
WWatch The sentence prompted a stiff denunciation by Amnesty International, and European based human rights monitors, which makes one wonder why these groups would be sympathizing with a murderous pedophile rather then his victims? The Saudi Interior Ministry asserted that Al-Anzi’s body was displayed as a warning that those involved in similar crimes would suffer the same fate.
The ministry said Al-Anzi kidnapped the boy and held him for a “malicious purpose” at a grocery store where he worked. He tied rope around the boy’s neck and strangled him to death, the ministry said.
When the boy’s father came to the store looking for his son, Al-Anzi axed the father repeatedly until the man died. When police came to arrest Al-Anzi, Al-Anzi resisted arrest by threatening them with a knife. Police later discovered that Al-Anzi had been previously convicted of other crimes, including possession of pornographic videos and sodomy, the Interior Ministry said.

I would be in favor, after conclusive evidence, ie. witnesses, DNA etc of public hanging for anyone convicted of raping or killing or sexually preying on a child. The rapists and predators are probably the worst offenders, for they not only harm the child, they steal their precious childhood.
They nesed to be removed from the gene pool quickly and publicly.
SOB, hanging is too quick. I would prefer them to get a much slower, more agonizing death.
If you hang someone the right way, their neck doesn’t snap and they don’t die in less than 30 seconds, but instead slowly die by suffocation and clamping of the large blood vessels in the neck. This could take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. I’d say it’s better than just snapping their necks.

Sure and swift justice MUST indeed prevail, IF there is ever to be a safe environment for REAL peace loving people ANYWHERE; here we have a rare instance in which Saudi justice does DEFINITELY come out ahead of the lack of justice in kangaroo courts of the U.S judicial system!!

Well, gotta give credit when it’s due, the Saudis know how to deal with scumbags like this and their punishments, while barbaric, are certainly clear and swift. I, however, also think this case is kind of weird given the proclivity of quite a large number of muslim men in quite a number of countries to engage in sexual practices with (young) boys (like bacha bazi in Afghanistan and Pakistan). Maybe the killing or getting caught did it? I don’t know… but I do know that raping boys isn’t uncommon amongst muslim men.
Also, as some other people noted… if he’d done this with a 6-year old girl, or attempted to marry off or marry a 6 to 10 year-old girl and rape her once married, would be completely fine in the muslim world. Pedophilia is alright if you do it Muhammad’s way!
