Ever since an Islamofascist leader was sentenced to death last month, as many as 50 Hindu temples and 700 homes have been torched or vandalized by outraged Muslims, angry at the conviction of one of their heroes.
The verdict, death by hanging, for Delwar Hossain Sayedee, vice-president of the country’s largest Islamic party, Jamaat-e-Islami, was for war crimes committed during the 1971 Liberation war. Hindus comprise 10% of the 153 million population of Bangladesh, yet the government is doing little or nothing to protect them. After the execution is carried out in the next few months, things are expected to get a lot worse for Hindus there.
