We’ve seen the Saudi and Iranian Religious Police who harass women in the street for not being properly covered up. But now, apparently, the Muslim Religious Police are hard at work in York, Canada, threatening a Rabbi if he allows a person with anti-Islam views to speak at the synagogue.
But unlike the Saudi Religious Police who have no real power, Canada’s Religious Police carry guns while they threaten, intimidate, and harass Canadian citizens for what they consider a ‘thought crime.’
YRP Insp. Ricky Veerappan, a Muslim in charge of the force’s so-called diversity, equity and inclusion bureau didn’t like the idea of a department chaplain, Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, inviting controversial American commentator Pamela Geller to address a local synagogue.
