Imagine if Hamas Muslim terrorists were your neighbors and could shoot the deadly M-302 rocket at your home. There are maps below as well as an app that can help you put the Hamas threat in perspective.
300 Rockets fired in 48 hours, 221 hit Israel
IDF Hamas has fired hundreds of rockets into Israel in the past few days. Yesterday evening, terrorist organizations operating in Gaza launched a salvo of 45 rockets at major Israeli cities, reaching as far as Hadera, located 100 km from Gaza.
In order to restore quiet to the region and stop Hamas terrorism, the IDF has commenced Operation Protective Edge. The operation has one goal: to stop Hamas’ incessant rocket attacks against Israel’s civilians. Since the start of the operation, over 200 rockets hit Israel and the IDF has targeted approximately 590 targets, with both naval and aerial capabilities.
IDF Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, IDF Spokesman: “Last night, the majority of Israel’s population was put under immediate danger as Gaza terrorists fired rockets at major Israeli cities. Despite the turmoil, we will not forget that residents of southern Israel have been suffering from unremitting fire for several years. Since 2014 began, about 500 rockets were fired at Israel. Operation “Protective Edge” will prolong until the fire at Israel ceases, and once we succeed in significantly depleting terrorist infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.”
It is now clear that Hamas has received powerful M-302 rockets from Iran, placing over 3.5 million Israelis in danger. Yesterday, an M-302 rocket hit the city of Hadera, which is 100 km (62 mi) away from Gaza. The Israel Navy found the same type of rocket onboard the Klos C vessel in March. The ship, intercepted in the Red Sea, was carrying Iranian weapons destined for Gaza terrorists.
The M-302 has a strike range of 160 kilometers, allowing Hamas to target most of Israel. The maps below demonstrate the reach of the M-302 rocket inside each of these countries.
Below is a link to an an application to help you put Hamas’ threat in perspective. Type in your home town and it will show you just how far these rockets can reach.
Overnight, as part of the ongoing operation “Protective Edge”, the IDF targeted approximately 160 terror sites throughout the Gaza Strip.
Among the terror targets the IDF struck are: 118 concealed rocket launching sites, consisting of long-range rockets launchers; weapon storage facilities; 10 tunnels, out of which 7 terror tunnels and 3 smuggling tunnels; 6 Hamas official facilities, and 10 terror command positions.
Since operation “Protective Edge” embarked on July 7, the IDF has targeted approximately 440 targets, with both Naval and Aerial capabilities. Over the course of the night, a joint IDF-ISA operation led to the successful IAF targeting of Hafez Hamid, 77′, a commander in the Islamic Jihad. Hamid was responsible for the recent rocket attacks against Sderot.
Overnight, terror organizations in the Gaza Strip suffered a severe blow, as the numerous IDF strikes in Gaza managed to significantly impair terrorist capabilities and prevent possible schemes against Israelis. The targets have been selected specifically following long-term intelligence efforts indicating a direct link between them and terrorist infrastructure.
Why does the IDF try so hard to avoid civilian casualties? Bomb the bastards.
