in case anyone wants to know the song 500 miles ( I will Walk for you)is by the Proclaimers and used in the movie Benny and Joon love the commerical
January 31, 2015 @ 5:53 pm
The song is a good one and the original beat was, well, upbeat! Can’t understand why this version was slowed down to a dirge. The upbeat song is now a downer and quite depressing.
Love the Clydesdales though, my dear father refused a tractor and used only his two wonderful Clydesdales for the heavy work around the farm. Unfortunately, as all mortal creatures do, first one, then the other died. They were quite elderly I believe, (in their 30’s) but who am I to talk! LOL.
Thanks Bonni, great photos.

AWESOME! I NOTHING is above dogs n critters in my book… the more I know humans, the more I revere nature….
January 31, 2015 @ 1:20 pm
kind of hokey
January 31, 2015 @ 3:21 pm
that’s the whole point

I love labs too! And they are the opposite of filthy jihads.
If the amazing creative power of Madison Avenue could be harnessed to fight islam we could win this war in a flash. People could be persuaded by even one great ad were it distributed to the masses (i.e., Super Bowl).

Budweiser always has the best SB ads. So heartwarming. I’m also a Bud Lite fan as they used to have a Bull Terrier in their Spuds MacKenzie ads. I have two bullies – they are my best pals.

I can’t watch this one, “Puppy Love” or “Respect” without tearing up.

Wonderful! Two of my favourite animals in one ad! My Dad had three Clydesdales(shires)in his lifetime, and as a young kids we all learned to ride on the last one,Prince,a gentle giant and such a willing worker.Sadly,he had to be put down at the age of 30yrs due to some scroats chasing him around a field, they were armed with planks of wood with nails knocked through them, and used them to hit the horse.Next day he could not rise up from the floor(he collapsed in his stable)……Dad was heartbroken.

SR, I got the chance to see the Clydesdales in person once in their temporary stabling at a horse show. They are truly majestic animals and huge!
February 1, 2015 @ 2:31 am
BNI…..I’m envious! Over here we have Thwaite’s Brewery and they are famed for still using Shire horses to pull the drays delivering kegs of beer to pubs instaed of motorised vehicles.I call them shires, but I’m not sure if the ones in your Bud ad are Shires, think Clydesdales are definitely smaller.
February 1, 2015 @ 2:37 am
Hmmmm, I have no idea, but I’ve never seen them referred to as Shires.
January 31, 2015 @ 6:00 pm
Sheik, so sorry for the brutalisation of Prince, your father would have been grief stricken. These darling horses and kinder than the kindest person. It is heart wrenching to think of someone terrorising such a gentle creature in such a way. I hope you managed some retribution on the little psychopaths who murdered Prince.
February 1, 2015 @ 2:40 am
NoMore…..yes,he was beside himself and(I was at school thankfully when it happened)gave Prince a big bucket of feed and gave him his last Polo mint and said goodbye, leaving the men to do their deed…..(gulp!).When I got home from school, knowing that Prince had been put down that day,it was awful to see my Dad,so quiet,so red eyed.As for retribution….nope.I saw the bastards chasing the horse,he could only manage a futile trot, and chased them onto a nearby housing estate.Strangely enough, they stopped right outside a friends front door,so I nipped in a phone box and called her,but she wanted to know why I wanted her to go out and just hold one of them until I got there, and I said”just do it!” but she opened her front door and shouted at them and of course they ran away.

SR, I know. Losing a beloved animal, especially in such a savage way, is like losing a child.
January 31, 2015 @ 9:50 pm
Shiek, I don’t have horses myself, but my neighbor lady has a bunch. When I go down to see her when she’s out in the field, those horses come trottin’ and ambling up to the fence, nuzzling and wanting affection.
I Grieve, that Prince had to be put down, and especially for that reason of abuse.
Animals, and especially dogs and horses, and cats too, have a greater integrity and sense of honor than most humans.
And then, there’s the islamic horde,, ,, ,, ,, ,,
Ms BNI, thank you for posting this ad. It’s a tear-jerker, for sure~!
February 1, 2015 @ 2:46 am
grouchy…..yes,horses generally are very affectionate. The shire Prince had this wonderful, what I call a moustache on his muzzle, really long and whispy….yes, the reason that horse died was a tragedy.
January 31, 2015 @ 9:48 am
Dogs just have a way of melting your heart. Great ad, as usual.

Budweiser hit another home run! Thanks for posting this.
January 31, 2015 @ 9:12 am
Such magnificent horses!
January 31, 2015 @ 6:05 am
I like the add but everytime Budweiser does a commercial, It reminds me of the best one they ever made. A tribute to the 9/11 victims. http://foxmuldar-conservative-thinker.blogspot.com/2015/01/budweisers-best-ever-commerical-tribute.html

Fox, I agree, and I post that video here every year on 9/11.
