There is a field up the road with two horses.
From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing…
Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is totally blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.
Even more amazing… If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it is coming from one of the horses in the field.
Attached to the horse’s mane is a tiny bell. It lets his blind friend know exactly where he is, so he can follow.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you’ll see that the horse with the bell is always checking behind to see where the blind horse is.
And the blind horse will listen for the bell, then walk over to where the other horse is…trusting that he will not be led astray.
When the horse with the bell walks back to the shelter of the barn each evening, he stops occasionally and looks back…making sure that his blind friend hasn’t fallen too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owner of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.
He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way.
Good friends are like that…You may not always see them, but you know they are always there.
Please listen for my bell…and I’ll listen for yours.

What a touching story. I was not a subscriber in 2015, so it is new to me. Thanks for posting it. Will send to my horse riding granddaughter, too.

Bonni judging by the number of responses you must have hit the spot your arms must be weary from all that bell ringing even heard it down here in Australia .Wish muslims would realise change of attitude can bring positive results .The horses can teach us a good lesson as most animals do.When I was much younger has an arguement with a preacher about animals when they die told they just die not go onto next world he was very angry when I told him it must be a b;oody boring place to go count me out.Sand in the eyes again.
BareNakedIslam says
I love animals more than people.
I reposted this here as a Mental Health Break. A BNI reader emailed me and asked if I could find it for him. It took awhile because I first posted this in 2015. I thought with all the crap going on in the world right now, something like this would be uplifting, so I put it up again.
Bugsy278 says
Thanks for that. Brought a tear to my eye. Incredible!

Horses are much more intelligent than people give them credit for. I can tell you from experience that 3 times over the past 40 years, my horse and my husbands horse not only understood exactly what I was saying to them, they reacted with actions and emotions that can only be described as human.

I just read this post and its’ message is profound. Thanks, Bonni! It’s so true!
BareNakedIslam says
Had, I’ve gotten few angry emails saying this has nothing to do with Easter and asking, why am I, as a Jew, promoting it as such? Not sure what to make of those remarks. Also a few of the usual complaints admonishing me because the story has nothing to with Islam or Muslims, therefore, I should not waste their time by posting it at BNI.
Hadenoughalready says
I would remind them of WHO, EXACTLY, owns this blog. Do with it what you will, Bonni. I love it ALL!

I don’t waste my time answering them.

Well, there goes any credibility this blog had. You criticize one barbaric, bronze age fairy tale, and endorse another?
Grow up. It’s 2015.

Faith in a god may NOT be the problem,
BUT WHAT that deity may have ordered his people who follow. The ONLY barbaric religion I see is Islam.

Mohammed Zuqzdiq says
Don’t you just hate it when people refuse to share your current prejudices/belief system?
Constantine says
What does the fact that it’s 2015 have to with anything? There are strong arguments for God’s existence now just as there have been for millennia (in fact, some of the more powerful arguments for God’s existence have only arisen recently and are due to scientific advances – for example, the fine tuning argument, and the Kalam Cosmological argument). One can be fully rational and a theist just as one can be fully rational and an atheist – the arguments for/against are fairly evenly balanced and certainly neither side has an overwhelming advantage.
But regardless of whether one thinks the existence of God likely or not, BNI reports facts and events which argue for the harm of islam in our societies, and are not dependent on any theological/eschatological foundation. So she chose to offer a kind word to her Christian readers whose views you don’t happen to share. If there was an atheist special day maybe she would have done the same for them.
Lighten up.
Linda Rivera says
Why do you lie and deceive? There’s nothing about Biblical Christianity that’s barbaric. Jesus taught the Golden Rule:
Matthew 7:12 Treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy.

He is not here, HE IS RISEN!
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. 2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. 5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” 8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
He is alive
He is coming again!

If you want to have a really inspiratonal experience, look at YouTube videos, Jarrod Davidoff interviewing Ian McCornack Part 2 — an atheist who died and went to hell, having been bitten by 5 jelly fish (one is enough to kill you) — but before he died he saw a vision of his mother who was praying for him, and she told him to repent and ask God for forgiveness. He went to hell, which is just blackness, and nobody who lands there without repenting can ever get out. But he had repented and asked Jesus to save him. So a shaft of light came down into the blackness and drew him up into the light. There he saw Jesus and spent 15 minutes talking to Him. Jesus was glorified, dressed in shining white, with white hair. He stepped aside and showed Ian heaven — there was green grass and a blue sky, like on earth but everthing was wrapped in shimmering light. When asked if he wanted to go back or stay. he said he wanted to stay, but then he thought of his mother, who would be sad to get a coffin with his body in it, not knowing if he had been saved. So for her sake, it was decided he would return. He awoke in his body on a slab in the morgue — he had been dead for 20 minutes. But Jesus healed him, and even on the next day he was able to leave the hospital. He began reading th Bible amd became a pastor, he now has a church in England, and tells his miraculous story to as many people as possible. At the end of this video, he prays the most beautiful prayer you could imagine, and this prayer id my Easter gift to you. Nobody can watch this video and not believe. If you have time, also watch parts 1 and 3.

Because we stand against the evil in this life…doesn’t preclude us from loving the good. In fact, it’s our very love for the good that informs us of our hatred for the evil.

During WW II,
all church bells were silenced in Britain, only to be rung as a warning, if the Nazis invaded.
The way Britain is invaded now, they should all be walking around like Quasimodo, deafened by the bells ! 😀
Enjoy Easter/ Passover, don’t let the Paynims get you down.

Indeed, Almighty God guides every one of us in our lives through his little “bells”, though many of us overlook them. The people with impure hearts and minds fail to listen to those “bells”. May God have his mercy upon all of us. Blessings be upon all the good people.

Actually, I’m an atheist myself. However, I respect other people’s religious beliefs (except muslims and islam, of course). Though I agree with you that most people, like us, are under attack because we have common sense, not every atheist would join their club, in fact most of them would be against islam and muslim immigration. Happy Easter to all my Christian friends.

Went to a Methodist Easter egg hunt thing on the lake yesterday. Hundreds of happy little kids, Easter egg hunts, petting zoo, pretty day, food, drink, sack races, face painting, everything you can imagine to bring smiles to the faces of little kids. Then, right there in the middle of this big, happy Norman Rockwell scene, the excrement in the punch bowl … a Muslima wearing a headbag. It made me ill.
