OH, THE IRONY! On the eve of the Muslim month-long holiday of Ramadan, the Empire State Building is lit up in blue and white colors to honor the state of Israel

For the first time ever, the Empire State Building will shine blue and white on June 5th—mirroring the colors of the Israeli flag—for the annual Celebrate Israel Parade and Festival in New York City.

OnlySimchas  Eric S. Goldstein, CEO of the UJA-Federation of New York, hosts of the annual parade said, “We are thrilled that this year, in addition to the parade, we are presenting many opportunities for Jewish New Yorkers to celebrate and demonstrate our collective support for Israel.” The NYC parade is considered the largest demonstration in support of Israel in the world.

Sadly, just a year after 9/11, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordered the iconic New York City skyscraper to be lit up in green in honor of Eid al-Fitr every year that marks the end of the Muslim holiday of Ramadan (celebrated with worldwide mass throat-cuttings of fully-conscious animals).
