CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY’s Muslim Director of Facilities Maintenance, Shehadeh Abdelkarim, ordered chalk memorial for 9/11 to be washed away on the morning of 9/11
What you probably also didn’t know is that Shehadeh Abdelkarim (right) also happens to be president of a Cleveland mosque that was linked to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, designated by the US government as a terror organization, as well as to the World Trade Center bombing in 1993.
Red Alert Politics Tiffany Roberts, chapter president of CSU’s Turning Point USA club, told The College Fix that members of the chapter gathered around 6 p.m. Sunday evening to chalk a 9/11 tribute onto the sidewalks of the public university to honor those killed in the terrorist attacks. Roberts said that around 7:45 a.m. Monday morning, a university employee arrived at the memorial with a power washer and removed the memorial.
The sidewalk art depicted a large American flag and the message “9-11-01 Never Forget.” The artwork was done by CSU Turning Point USA chapter members who gathered outside the student center the evening before. Really? So it’s ok for protestors to be on campus stomping on our flag, but you wash off a Conservative Student Organization’s chalk tribute to 9/11?
Frontpage Magazine As Lauren Cooley at Red Alert Politics points out, Shehadeh Abdelkarim is the President of the Islamic Center of Cleveland. The Islamic Center of Cleveland had its own controversial past.
In 2004, Fawaz Damrah, then imam of the Islamic Center of Cleveland (below), was convicted and deported for unlawfully obtaining his United States citizenship through a false or fraudulent application.
Damrah concealed from the INS his membership in and/or affiliation with: Al-Kifah Refugee Center, a front for al-Qaeda, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which has been identified by the U.S. government as a terrorist organization and the Islamic Committee for Palestine.
Damrah openly raised money for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, telling a 1991 fundraiser that Sami Al-Arian’s Islamic Committee for Palestine (ICP) was “the active arm of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine. Two years earlier, Damra argued that “terrorism, and terrorism alone, is the path to liberation” for Palestinians
Damrah was also named a possible co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing trial. Local TV stations broadcast a videotape from a Chicago gathering showing him calling for rifles to be directed at Jewish people, and referring to them as “the sons of monkeys and pigs.”
So we’ve got a university covering up the erasure of a 9/11 memorial at the command of a leader of a mosque linked to Al Qaeda, the World Trade Center bombing and racist Islamic terror.
